Most dangerous Civilizations / Biggest threat Leaders

That's why I published the proven facts in my exploration and translation of original CIV1 code.
My big question is: does civ attributes in Civ1 determine its starting tech chances like Civ2?

In Civ2, tests show that a Militaristic civ is more likely to start with military techs, and only Neutral civs have a slim chance to start with Map Making.

In general, how far are you from decoding the algorithm that determines starting bonuses (Settlers, techs)?

This is a very good question that relates to one of the riddles I wanted to solve:
Do expansionist civilizations want to explore the oceans faster than others?

The other are:
How much do individual nations irrigate the terrain and do Perfectionist and Civilized do it much more than Expansionist and Militaristic.

My question is: which version of CIV1 did you use?

The version .01 has simpler AI, .03 has somewhat better AI, and the version .05 has the most aggressive AI.

Eventually OpenCiv1 will be able to answer all of these questions, but for now I think that they will be hard to answer definitively :(

If its true this is very important answer because I always play in CIv1 so all this map in the thread is from CIv1.
So meybe these maps should be played to civ5 for version comparison.
If you have right there should be differences.
How do you know they are exist? You see this difrences in the code?

If someone wants to help this is scenario of these maps:
0 = romans map - #10
1 = english - #11
2 = americans - #19

CIV1 simply means that you play Civilization I. But if you specify like this CIV1.01 or CIV1.03 etc. Then you specify a revision.
There are many differences in code for different revisions and their AIs behave differently.

The revision number is visible from the start screen (474.01, 474.03, etc. 474 and 475 are identical, but 475 was a CD edition):

Updates can be found on archive of MPS site: https://web.archive.org/web/19980210222702/http://ftp.microprose.com/ftp/mps-online/new-versions/

I have attached the official update to version .03 as it's hard to find. The .04 update is named "civv04.zip", and obviously .05 is named "civv05.zip".

Don't forget to make a backup of your old version ;)

Sory, its mental shortcut. Of course Civ475.01 i mean.
But I have as well civ475.2 , civ474.3 , civ474.4. I dont have 474.5 (I have only patch to her) but I read that only what is change in version is patching bugs and cheat cods. Only one thats difficult game is redshirts for more city in 03
so I little daubt that civ AI is better in new version.
Is there on a forum thread about these AI changes? I'd rather not go too off-topic here about version.

You don't have to specify 474 or 475 as that doesn't mean anything, just simply: civ1.1, civ1.3, civ1.4 or civ1.5... ;)
Maybe not better, but different. It's only what it takes, a patch, because main changes (for all versions) are in CIV.EXE anyway. For .03 there are a few image and text files changed also.

Hm, maybe a @Lord_Hill can be of some help here. He found some old threads for me that I didn't know existed.

Obviously our understanding is incomplete but a good example is that the AI used diplomats in v1 but not v5.
