CivIV install issue.

I cannot install Civ IV because for some reason, when it launches and takes me to the "SoundMAX Setup" step, an error box appears saying:

title: "Severe!"

text: "Driver not found, please reboot your system!"

I have reinstalled my audio drivers and still no dice. Any ideas?

I don't have the game yet. What is SoundMAX setup?

That's the first I've heard of it.

You could try the sound test in DirectX Diagnostics. Do start-run-dxdiag then look under the Sound tab.

When I install Civ IV, for some reason, the autorun tries to launch my ATI Control Panel Installer. I have to cancel out of that, manually go to my computer, the drive with the Civ IV disk in it, explore that, and double click on Setup there. Could this be similar / Soundmax have nothing to do with Civ ?
