Just got the Chronicles of Civ boxed set and am looking at the Civ for Windows game. Now, I'm used to Civ DOS, and thought this would be the same. The interface looks different, but I think I have found one difference in game play. The CivWin version of the DOS game, apart from (slightly) improved graphics, has one feature which is retrograde from the patched version of DOS - you can't (I think) rename cities.
There is also one significant game play change - I can't find any way of hurrying up the building of a city improvement. The DOS version had a "Buy" button in the Build box in the City screen. I believe that later versions you can hurry up the building by using Control-H, but WinCiv doesn't have a Buy button, and Control-H doesn't do anything.
Does anyone have a list of other changes?
(Or have I missed a way to hurry building in CivWin?)
