Clean fire

Hi all.

Suddenly a fire has sterted in a forest near my capital, and it then went into surrounding forests as well.

Is there any solution to clean it? Workers cannot enter there, and I haven't seen any conjure in adepts to clean it. I hope it won't last forever...

If you have any ideas, please tell me.

Thanks

If you haven't got any adepts yet, it seems that chopping the surrounding forests might be the only solution. But that's not easy - fire spreads much faster than you chop...
Destroy any burnt forests, otherwise they'll soon regrow to new forests and again catch on fire. The process of burning->regrowing->burning etc. can never end if the forested area is big enough.

You can use the spring spell (adept with water 1) to extinguish fires.

On a related point, I sometimes take advantage of Open Borders with tree-infested FoL civilizations controlled by the AI, having all sorts of Fire 1 adepts wander around attempting to set their forests on fire. Lots seem to sputter out (stay as just "smoke"), but sometimes you can get a pretty pleasant conflagration, hurting health, happiness (if following "Guardian of Nature"), production, impacting ability to move units around in cases, etc.

Probably more than a little exploity *shrugs*

Yeah, if even one puff of smoke breaks out before you have any way of getting Water I adepts (as just happened to me with an early Pyre Zombie attack..) it can really spread and re-burn neverendingly like Marksman said.

I think Workers should be able to contain/extinguish a fire, though it could take them a long time & let it destroy nearby improvements so fires would still be a menace (maybe this could work only near water or Irrigation).

Alternatively, you could just have Burnt and New Forests take a little longer to grow, to allow a big blaze but prevent constant re-burning.

A cool rare random event would be to have a slight extra chance for a Mushroom to appear in New Forest:

Mushrooms
A cluster of rare Mushrooms has appeared in the young forest near **, drawing nourishment from the ashes of the recent blaze.
