I never know how much to clear when im playing. Jungles and Forests contain things like rubber, if i destroy all the jungles there wont be any rubber  i was wondering how all the rest of you dealt with this problem

Jungle tiles are the worst: low food and there is a possibility for disease. Clear them. Rubber can also be found in forest. Coal can be found in hills. Don't worry - clear the jungle tiles. You kan keep the ones not used by any city.

Clearing the jungle does not destroy the rubber.

All resources are set at the time of map generation. They cannot be destroyed, even if the underlying terrain is changed. The AI seems to have an uncanny knack for settling near where a strategic resource will show up once the right tech is discovered. Hmmm.

So rubber will appear in a grassland or plains tile, even if the forest or jungle is cleared away a long time before? I'll have to remember that -- I usually leave the heavy jungle portions of my continent untouched until the rubber appears, then clear the area and found cities in the open space. This will give my idle captured workers something to do!

Yep, clear away. I would keep a unit with them...just in case.

I often leave the jungle near my borders because it don't let the AI to attack city in one turn. But if they moove... So maybe better is really to clear them unless you are trying to stay in peace.

What's happening with the smiles today? I can't put any (or at least I can't see them). They are on, so I can't understand wnat's going on.

I can see them.... maybe it's a browser problem?

Random smilie: :ar15:

Roso, it would be much better to clr jungle and plant forest instead for that purpose.
you get simlar effect, with more production and less disease...

Not much time when you have 50 slaves doing all the work. :satan: I like to attack all the workers and settlers I can find when I first invade an enemy.
