Coastal city gives Fresh Water?

Why does my settler standing on the coast say my city will get fresh water (as opposed to coastal water)? Is that a bug? No river nearby so cant figure out whats causing the fresh water check mark...

You have to activate the settler lens to see what kind of water access you have. The check and the x are always there I think.

Yeah that's wierd, that check mark means nothing, it's just a random check mark for some reason...

That might be a lake. Mouse hover over one the water tiles and check whether it says coastal or lake.

I dont think lakes have cliffs or fish? Or I dont recall seeing any such.

You're probably right, but its easily checked with the tile tooltip.
