Cold War Project

I'm for Apolyton too. I won't be a prick and go so far as to quit games here or force them to move, but I'm not joining any new games here from now on. As the current ones end I'll gradually phase out.

I've never played at Poly before, and I've been at civfanatics for around 2 or 3 years, off and on. But it looks like I'll have to move, as the PBEM people are moving out. Stupid mods.

Hmmm I started at CIV Fan as well and rarely visited Apoly, but it is a pretty good site. And Darius isnt starting any new PBEM's here. I haven't made up my mind yet. But if the current trend contonues I may join him. Although TF did offer us a major concession which I aprreciated.

If you want to stay here Ill play with ya, but eventually you may have to check out Apoly.

Have you read your PM's BTW?

I downloaded it to play singleplayer, and it rules.
Really? Considering that my intention was to make a multiplayer version...

But no custom sounds?
Well, this is my "first version" I just released the game to test it. I´ll add more features in the future :)

BTW, I noticed a problem... Some wonders of the world that are supposed to be "buildable"; but the game doesn´t give you the chance to build them?
For example, "First Space Walk". The USSR has the tech required to construct this wonder of the world. However, the option doesn´t show up

I don´t get it.

I dl'ed the scenario and its very good, the one thing i would say needs some tweaking is the infantry.

ANZAC,Chinese,Soviet,US and NATO seem to be identical, that seems like a waste of unit spaces really when the only difference is the way it looks.

may i suggest a little variation in their strengths and weaknesses?

Wonders of the World problem solved!!!

Thanx!!! :)

Please, do it. Nobody said nothing about it. I´d like to hear your ideas :)

I'd say leave NATO and Soviet alone, their values are fine and their wasn't a huge gap between the quality of soviet conscripted armies and european ones.

However I would raise ANZAC att/def by 1 and their costs by 6 as they are known for being damn good soldiers.

China's infantry cost could probably be lowered to simulate its large manpower and maybe lower its attack slightly.

The US i'm not too sure about, maybe raise its firepower by 1 to simulate the US technological superiority and raise its cost to 50 but i'm afraid that could make it too powerful.

Mmm... interesting ideas...
To be honest, i´d like to test the units with their actual values. However, i´ll test your ideas in the next period 1970-1975

Thanx for your help :)

Don't you think the ZSU unit should be allowed to attack air units, as well as x2 defense versus air units, as it is armed with anti-aircraft guns and was designed for that purpose. Perhaps they should also be made weaker than the real tanks , as well. Just a few suggestions :)

I just read the unit changes up above, and noticed you've already done all that. Two more things though, I was playing a hotseat game and noticed that the guided missile is set up like a helicopter (it doesn't run out of fuel) . I fixed this in my rules.txt, but I don't know if you've noticed it yet. Also, I cannot move the ICBMs, they claim to have -9 movement points and are unable to be activated.

first of all:
define the world "Gigamap"
second i can make a map for you if you want it will take some time but i believ it can be done (Useing map editor) it will just be a basic map and will have the starting cities for the us and russia on it :D

Academia, I read that Mongolia remained allied to the Soviet Union even after the Sino-Soviet split and sided with Kruschev against Mao. the Chinese even moved troops to the border with the Mongolia at one point when the tensions were high between Moscow and Beijing.
