How does the Catapult and Cannon work? I see a 2 percentages in Catapult pedia. Ranged: (Number) (Percentage) and in Strength: (Number) (Percentage). So what do these numbers and percentages mean?

Can the catapult deal collateral damage on Range attacks or only for melee attacks?

The ranged damage cap sets the maximum amount of damage that the catapult/cannon can do with its ranged attack. So if that is set to say, 50%, then a ranged attack can only damage a unit up to 50%. The strength basically says how strong the catapult/cannon is with its ranged attack, just like with archers.

The strength of the catapult/cannon is the numbers the game uses if it gets into a head-on fight. The percentage next to that is the maximum amount of collateral damage that it can do. So if the catapult attacks a city and wins (or looses) it can do up to that percent damage to a set number of other units in the opposing stack.

As for collateral damage from range, yes, it can do that.
