Why is the ai better with this? He always damages 6 or 7 units with it but the most I ever get to damage is 4?

I don’t think there is a difference. Stack composition is a factor. Siege units due not take collateral and I believe their presence in a stack lowers overall collateral

Yes. While siege units are immune to collateral damage, they are included in the selection process. A high number of siege units will absorb a lot of the collateral.
