Colonization treasure and galleons

3 part question really:-
I am new to this and all these silly references to previous Civilization games really get my goat!

Where can I find straightforward rules for this game

I have gained treasure, built a galleon but how do I get the treasure onto the &%)* galleon?

Some guys in Europe won't get onto a privateer, but will get onto a merchantman - why?, fussy?

If your treasure is in a colony where there is a galleon docked then use the 'load' icon. Alternatively you can move your treasure directly from land onto the galleon with the arrow keys.

Some guys in Europe won't get onto a privateer, but will get onto a merchantman - why?, fussy?

A privateer can carry goods but not passengers (I could tell you that in the original Colonization the privateer was able to take passengers but I won't because you said not to )
