Just posted a mod I've been working on for a bit, which enables you to play as the Pern settlers: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1902541581
Includes:
-The Pernese settlers sponsor, led by Governor Emily Boll
-Dragons! Yes, a flying dragon unit
-The AIVAS wonder
-A playable map of Pern (look under Custom worlds when setting up the game)
The Pernese are a peaceful people and so the sponsor's unique character is Agrarian Utopia. This grants +1 culture per farm improvement (up to +2 once you upgrade the second time). However, their aversion to the technological obsession of the civilization they left behind means they have -10% to overall science. This improves to only -5% and then a 0% impact with upgrades. You also get a combat bonus when fighting in your own territory, but are weaker in other factions' territory. Finally, all Pernese units are +20% more combat effective against aliens.
Dragons are extra-strong against aliens and upgrade as your Harmony affinity rises, progressing from Green -> Blue -> Bronze -> Gold. The size will also gradually increase as well, in accordance with the dragons of varying color in the books.
The AIVAS wonder removes all aliens from your planet upon completion. It is highly unlikely to be built by AI factions (its flavor is set to Science, with a value of 1), so you should have control over whether it is built in your games.
City names: Ship Meadow, Landing, Fort, South Boll, Ruatha Tillek, Benden, Telgar,
Bitra, Nabol, Ista, Keroon, Igen, Nabol, Lemos, High Reaches, Crom, Southern, Cove, Honshu, Xanadu, Paradise River, Monaco Bay, Cardiff, Killarney, Malay River, Sadrid, Roma, Drake's Lake, Karachi Camp, Key Largo, Irene Island, Cambridge, Cibola
"Spies" (Harpers): Kinsale, Traller, Piemur, Mekelroy, Talmor, Brudegan, Tagetarl, Pellar, Perschar, Menolly
WARNING: This mod will not work properly if you do not activate mods twice!

Acknowledgements
First, foremost, and rather obviously to Anne McCaffrey, the creator of the Pern books, which span from the original Dragonriders of Pern series, the many books that built on that series set during the Ninth Pass, and then particualrly for "Dragonsdawn", from which much of the content for the Pern Settlers faction is drawn.
The implementation of this mod couldn't have been done without many, many different posts, guides, assets and tools. To hit the major ones:
-Deliverator for all of the posts about working with custom units, and particularly for creating the dragon unit in Civ V that I brought over for this mod: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civ-5-flying-dragon-continuously-flying-version.599874/
-Edostan for the Civ V version of a Pern map: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=492147897
-nORb Dragon for the program and guide that enabled conversion of the Pern map to CivBE: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civ5map-to-lua-script-tools.504715/
-Ryika for the "Aliens Begone!" mod, from which I borrowed the code to make AIVAS kill all aliens. And also for all of the RT-compatible sponsors that I was able to reference when building Governor Boll and her people. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=965352397
-Linda Eicher's portrait of Emily Boll, the leader of the new Pern sponsor. The images from the Pern Encyclopedia site appear to have disappeared, but there is a version of the image in a forum post here: http://forums.srellim.org/showthread.php?t=4676
-Lauwfeyh for a version of the Pern flag (as described in the book): https://www.deviantart.com/lauwfeyh/art/Pern-Flag-Colony-194846136
-whoward69's what ModBuddy setting for what file types tutorial: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/file-attributes-properties-is-that-vfs-ingameuiaddin-or-updatedatabase.487846/
I'd love any feedback you may have. My hope is to generally support any issues/bugs that I know how to fix, but I'm a bit limited by time.
