Mickey Mouse could be used for America and Asterix (or a rooster) can be used for France as well.

I was actually thinking of the Spiderman logo for America since Superheroes are the "In" thing right now and DC is falling out of style, but Mickey Mouse could work too. Assuming Disney doesn't break into my house and cut off my hands for using their intellectual property without permission. They're a bit... touchy about that.
