I always seem to come back to playing CivIII. I buy new games, leave them half-completed and go back to playing Civ. I own an Xbox and a gamecube, but I always return to Civ, after a few weeks. Does anyone else keep coming back to civ, even after having newer unfinished games?

Yup... I go through cycles. I'll get a new game and go bonkers on it for a couple months, whether its for PS2 or PC, but I always end up coming back to Civ. Its like an old girlfriend that you just can't get out of your mind no matter how many other hot new women come along.

Yeah I usually keep thinking of different strategies to use or think of new cool trait combos, like I'll be sititng ont he bus or playing gamecube and wonder how well Industrious and Commcericl would work together in play, since on paper it should be quite powerful.

Sometimes though I kinda get burnt out on Civ3 and play another game for a couple days. The last time I vowed to stay away from C3C for a whole week. I played Risk 2 for a couple days and I couldn't wait to get back to Civ3 after I finished one game.

Thats a perfect analogy to describe Civ.

There are a couple of other games I play regularly. Pogo.com has a bunch that I like. GTA:VC(just got it a couple of weeks ago), GTA3, Freelancer...but Civ is always there.

I don't when I would have come back to Civ if I hadn't brought C3C and also I'm now involved with several PBEMs which keeps me playing...

i buy many others games and get civved out often but i always return to civ3, and each time i return i'm trying something new, currently AWM tiny maps, because i know i have won or lost within a couple of hours and i'm trying to improve my warring for the big move to diety

SG's and PBEMs still keep me in touch during the non civ phases though

That is exactly what hapens to me also.Every time i get a new game i play it for a while and then i go back on playing CIV.I think that this is what makes a game classic, its longevity, and CIV for sure has become a classic one. That is why CIV sould be ''respected'' also from the company that releases it,and i am refering to all those matters that have become a real pain in...to all of us.I hope it will continue on beeing one of the best games ever made.
