TXT_KEY_SPELL_SAND_LION (This is summon sand lion, right?)

Hidden deep within the deserts of the world live secretive creatures known as Sand Lions. Sand Lions are well adapted to the desert, being nearly impossible to see while in their natural habitat, and those that would hunt them can usually find no trace of them until it is too late. Although they try to avoid contact with the outside world, Sand Lions will temporarily serve those who are especially in tune with the deserts. Due to never leaving their homes normally, Sand Lions cannot heed the call of summoners who are not in the desert.

First thing I've ever written for something like this :crazyeye:
I was trying to get at their +80% (I think it's 80...) desert defense with the second sentence.

Yeas i really like thos spoiler tags. keeps threads much better organized and a lot easier to scorll.

About the translation. I have to check if i have the original (german) liing around somewhere. But it would be not much harder to translate it form latin to english than it is from german to engilsh.
Its a simple ritual i wrote for live action role playing games to create an protective circle. the fist part is spoken repeatingly while the circle is drawn.

Then there are parts for each rune that is added to the circle (actually the above features only half or a third of the runes.) each rune has an specific text as wells an generic introduction and finishing text. The last part completes the cirle and adds some runes that establish a conection to the caster so that he can feel whats going an and if someone wants to breach the circle.

My german dictionary and grammer helper are next to my latin, and equally and unfortunately forgotten. If you talk greek next, you'll hit the trifecta of my languages that i studied but have long forgotten.

Very interesting sounding, maybe actually put part of this explaination in the game? Like under "rituals" or something?

They march in rough companies, but break into a frenzy at the first sight of the enemy, thus negating the formations. They hail a leader, but follow their own plans when his back is turned. They divide a portion of their force for cavalry, despite being unable to mount a horse. "You won't believe this one. So, I send a runner to Golden Leane for a mage to help us defend this worthless little town. A couple of days later, an adept shows up - scrawny little bugger - and you know what he did? Made a pile of stones, right in front of the city. I hear about entire enemy companies wiped out by our fireballs, but I just get a pile of stones. I guess we'll just have to defend against all odds again. Get back to your post, the orcs will be coming soon."

Much poetry is song - JRRT would prolly agree. I'd use some or any of it.

"Love is a burnin’ thing,
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire --
I fell into a ring of fire.

I fell into a burnin’ ring of fire --
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher,
And it burns, burn, burns,
The ring of fire, the ring of fire.

The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet.
I fell for you like a child --
Oh, but the fire ran wild.

I fell into a burnin’ ring of fire --
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher,
And it burns, burn, burns,
The ring of fire, the ring of fire.

I fell into a burnin’ ring of fire --
I went down, down, down,
And the flames went higher,
And it burns, burn, burns,
The ring of fire, the ring of fire.
-Johnny Cash, Burnin' ring of fire."

Who would have guessed we could use a Johnny Cash song. Checking in just:

I fell into a burnin’ ring of fire --
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher,
And it burns, burn, burns,
The ring of fire, the ring of fire.

To everyone: the entries dont all have to be quotes by the way. They can be extremly short stories. Some instance where the spell is used.
