Community Patch - How To Install

Yes. In fact it's just the CP mod that I'm trying to get to run. As I've said I have tried it with only the CP mod and no other mods with a clean fresh install of Civ V. Same result, instant death.
I will check out the similar report on GitHub. Thanks for letting me know about it. No, it's not me.

Hello Huge fan here! But I'm a little stumped by two game-breaking issues I'm having. The last version I played was probably an August version and I'd like to get back into it. I tried a few of the current versions now and I'm trying to run the February 6th version now. One thing I experience right off the bat is some of the AI settlers will move around instead of founding their City. That could be an interesting feature except for the fact that they are captured by barbarians. Then instead of being eliminated from the game, there left in game with zero cities and do nothing. And then attempting to research my third technology which was the wheel. It was stuck on one turn which seems like indefinite. I thought I cleared my cache files and whatnot, but maybe I've missed something? Is this a possibility? I'm running the game Emperor difficulty and raging barbarians. Im using no other mods. The only ones I have installed are the six for the full Vox mod. I've unsubscribe and deleted everything else

The infinite tech research loop was a bug, it was hotfixed like 2 days ago. It should be alright if you redownload.

Not sure about the settlers thing. I saw a similar report somewhere - probably multiplayer modpack related if I remember well. Not experiencing it myself (playing the Jan version), but I think you can disable the movement of the initial settler in the options file if it helps.

So I've decided to reinstall the game. After uninstalling I deleted the Civ 5 folder under "My Games" hope that did the trick to at least eliminate this as a possibility

EDIT: Issue is still there. Did a quick test with 19 civs and looking at the replay, 12 civs found on turn 0. By turn 6, a total of 15 had founded. I assume the last four were taken by barbarians. This could be a map issue like you say. I have this issue on Continents Plus. But when i use the standard Continents it works fine. Changing the option in the mods options folder to not allow AI to move their settler on turn zero appears to be a workaround for this. Thanks for the info!

Hi !
I am new to this forum and just activated the community patch and the german version (my 1st workshop mod at all).
Pretty sure I get all answers needed by reading tons of information here, but hope to get some quick Replys :)

- Are any other mods recommended to get max value from this patch ? I am playing Civ 5 complete edition (so all DLC are activated).
- What do I need to do to get community patch also working for multiplayer ?

- Just to clarify things - are you saying that you have installed the Community Patch from the Steam workshop? If yes, then the recommended mod is the 2nd part of the Vox Populi project, which overhauls and extends the game mechanics. The Community Patch (the 1st part) only fixes bugs and improves AI. I'd unsubscribe (this is important) and install the whole package by the exe autoinstaller which you can download from the first page of this thread.

- I would strongly suggest to play a few games with just Vox Populi. You can start experimenting with adding another mods later.

- You can refer to the mods compatibility thread here (mind you compatible does not mean recommended):
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/mods-compatible-with-community-balance-patch-cbp.542679/

- You can see the mod lists of several veteran Vox Populi players in this thread:

Thx a lot vyyt.
I used the auto installer and started game. When clicking on MOD, which one do I have to activate ?

Update: I activated position 1 and 2 now and switched language to englisch.
Is this your recommended "Vox Populi only" setting ?

One additional question: When only choosing the community patch (position 1), do I also need to switch to English to get all features, or can I choose other language ?

I see u play in German. Try this: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/the-vox-populi-localization-project.609232/

Most things got translated, and now u can see all changes in the Policy Tree

Great, a german patch, will install this afternoon :)
Last thing I would like to get running is the multiplayer for the community patch.
I am playing Civ once the week with a friend in hotseat mode, pretty sure he does not like all the new features from overhaul.
So can someone maybe provide me with a link or explain how to get multiplayer working for community patch mod ?

I am on my cell, so just a quick one: If you want to play angle player with full Vox Populi, tick all the 6 mod components.

As for the multiplayer, if you want only the bug fixes and AI changes, you can either make your own "fake DLC" MPMP multiplayer modpack (the instructions are google-able) or search the forums here, I think someone made one, but as Vox Populi is so awesome, people mostly create the full Vox Populi multiplayer modpacks :-)

EDIT: This is the full Vox Populi modpack:
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/dlc-modpack-and-43-civ-version-repository.609278/

I have never tried MP, so maybe someone else here will help you more.

So I'm not sure what I did wrong, but ever since, i wanna say like november, I have been unable to play this mod because there is no (1) or (1b). I installed the 43 civ version of vox pupilli without the eui and the files are in my mods folder along with the other files for this mod. The other files, 2-6b show up in game but the dlls dont... cant play without them please help.

EDIT: Checked my mods folder and it turns out even my standalone DLL is missing

Use the auto-installer. Delete all mods from MODS folder first.

Um... there was an "or" involved in that question. Regardless it still doesn't work...

If the auto-installer isn't working you've got a weird location for your civ data or something. (1) thru (6a) need to end up in your MODS folder and EUI in your DLC folder. Move them manually.

Regardless it still doesn't work...

Just clarifying: You deleted ALL mods from your Mods folder, then ran the autoinstaller and you still cannot see the (1) component in the Mods screen? What is in your Mods folder now? Were any new mods you have been subscribed to on Steam automatically downloaded?

Yup all of them got deleted then i cleared my recycle bin. ran the installer, got even fewer files this time around (im trying to get the 43 civ DLL one with vox populli with no EUI and only got (1)-(6c)) then steam redownloaded all of the other mods from the workshop.

And i dunno if my mods are in a weird place, i havent moved anything since installing civ almost 2 years ago... (this is where my civ stuff is , Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS, I've excluded my name and user for obvious reasons.)

Try without the workshop mods. Good chance it is a mod conflict.
