Community Patch - How To Install

I'm not sure what's conflicting for you. I'd recommend posting in the compatibility thread- give them a list of your mods, and they can help. Removing all mods from your MODS folder, reinstalling the CPP, and going from there would be a good first step.

Well, it took a while (though still luckily less than it would have if I started in the opposite order), but I finally figured out that there was just one single mod that was causing the confliction problems. I was lucky enough for that to be one of the first mods I uninstalled!

If you're wondering, it was a mod porting the eras of the steampunk scenario added to the original tech tree for BNW (which I figured was a problem at first, but I assumed since the enlightenment era mod worked that it would too. This was before I actually played the mod and found out that the tech tree itself was modified though).

Funny enough, all of the mods I had that said on the page were incompatible worked fine with the community pack! I haven't played that far into it though, so there may be future problems (I'll give them any feedback as to that when I encounter any).

The other mods I scratched out should not be used, as they'll drastically affect the balance of the CBP.

Sorry if this has been answered before: I searched but didn't find any info. Is it possible to continue existing games/saves using a previous version of CPP? I have a save on Turn 300 or so using Community Patch v72 and am not sure whether I can update in place or not.

Is there any way to add mod(Calypso's Colored Religious Icons) to Community Patch in DLC folder?
 
Hey Gazebo! I have been trying to play with this community patch, but every time i settle a city or proceed to the next turn my game crashes. I am thankful in forward.
 
Hello, can someone be kind to explain in layman's terms how to properly install this because it is very confusing with all those abreviations that I dont know and compatibility versions with/without...

What I actually want is to install the community patch with the balance patch with all those CIV4 diplomacy features , perfectworld3, smartAI, InfoAddict, ReallyAdvancedSetup and some mods from pick&mix website(that are not already included in CBP) and EUI and that's about it ( the included version or the separate, it makes no difference for me ,whatever is more stable)

What I don't understand is does CBP comes with it's own EUI or do I have to install it separately and then delete those files mentioned or what ...

Basically what files should I have installed for everything that I mentioned to work correctly ?
Because I'm very confused with all this "if using CPB compatibility then delete x files if using CPB compatibility and compatible mods then use the compatibility version and delete x files..on and on" it's very confusing ,sorry .

Well I ran the executable and choosed full community patch project and I got a folder named

(6a) Community Balance Patch - Compatibility Files (EUI)

This is contradictory with the above or I am downright stupid ?
I am asking because I've installed now the latest Beta from the archive, through the executable using "full" option then installed some pick&mix mods that were not on the included list without smartAI and EUI which I understood are included; then the other mods mentioned and whenever I start a game I get this "could not load diplomacy textures/pyth/lua/ espionage/trade/religion... many of them in a row but the game still starts with a completely messed up interface.

EDIT : apparently I thought the exe installer comes with it's own modified EUI aswell ...separately installing EUI solved the problem

Not sure. Make sure you installed it correctly and that you have all DLC (and that your civ is up to date).

The auto installer does come with EUI, but it probably ended up in the wrong spot if you have a nontraditional or clandestine civ install.

It doesn't or maybe because I placed my steam common folder in a different spot,on other partition, not in the steam install place. I looked into the manual guide and it shows CPP's installer coming with an install for EUI but when I used both the latest and beta exe's ,there was no installer for EUI apart for the mentioning of "non/eui compatibility" in the main installer. That's why I got so confused as to why it says there's EUI but there isn't so I had to install it separately anyway.

The installer definitely includes EUI (it automatically moves it to the location where your registry thinks civ is located). If you've manually moved your civ install, that's the problem.

Hey, I have a few quick questions,/suggestions. I was wondering if it is possible to give naval melee units the ability to disperse coastal barbarian encampments? I hate not being able to clear the barbarians from an island without a land unit, especially if I'm trying to do so on the other side of the world. Secondly, I see you have an empty folder for a "43 civs version" on the download page. Does this mean you have plans to make it ynaemp compatible? That would be amazing! Thanks for your hard work!

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm happy to hear that 43 civs version is coming. I'm not surprised to hear that the other thing isn't possible. I'm assuming it's hardcoded in?
 
Hi, I've noticed a really frustrating bug, sometimes when a trade expire, i'm not getting the ressources i was trading back, it happened with iron and olives, on 2 separate games. The ressource is still shown in my "local ressources" but i dont have it, and it's still on the "ressources exported" list on the economic overview. I cant trade it again, dont get happiness/WLtKd, cant build units requiring it etc.

It might be that I moved the common folder true, I'm too lazy to reinstall everything to verify but nevertheless it works quite stable with that other EUI, going well at turn 405 now.
One thing that I noticed is that the AI plays much better with multiple units per tile mods, they actually come attack in big stacks of 4-5 everytime melee front archers/siege untis back and they also spread like crazy trying to flank whenever is the case. Is awesome , the only downsid is that civ 5 still doesn't have a way to manage stack moving...makes everyturn on a large map takes 10 minutes when at war.
 
I upgraded to the beta version, but now my I cannot see any city names. The bar where the name, population is, etc has disappeared for all cities. What could be causing this error?

I don't know how that can be. I have 0 other mods. I'm only using this.

Edit- I checked the installation instructions and followed them, but it's still the same problem. I'm using full version with EUI btw.

Check your lua log for runtime errors. Post and I'll look.
