Compatibility Problem with Steam Version?

I got the Steam version of BTS the other night and played a game with my friends who didn't have the Steam version, but now, when we try to play another game (Direct IP Connection) it says our versions don't match. So I looked at my version and it said 3.0.3.1....which apparently doesn't exist according to google and my friends can't download it from anywhere. Is there any way to fix this?

EDIT: I thought the problem might've been because of the fact that they all had Warlords installed, while I hadn't installed it yet, but that wouldn't have changed my version to one beyond theirs' would it?

There was a steam update today or yesterday, but they (valve) have not updtaed the news regarding the patch.

Does anyone have any advice? It really sucks hearing them brag about their games while I just get to sit here.

i do have the same problem... you should not worry about the different versions. It seems to me that Valve is trying to get rid of the "modified files"-problem of steam users playing online. As they tried to fix it, you can't join any game anymore, because MODs are not allowed to join games with hosts, who have diff versions/files...

i just hope for a new update soon :(
i have tried pretty much everything so far, this thread here might help u:
