Good work! :goodjob:

I remember my first games... I lost a few times in Chieftain! It was mainly because of not knowing a few rules, like the need to control key resources (like iron, saltpepper & Rubber).

But I kept playing and now my Default game is Semi-God, in which I still lose more than win, but am getting better... Sid level, I'm coming!!!

YAY!, congrats on the positive income, slowly becoming an educated player, very good, and please check out the War Academy, there is a link in Luthor's Post, It is a very helpful and useful resource. Also, there are posts all over CFC that have all sorts of useful and random information. If you come across more problems let us know, as you can see, people like to help each other out, and even compete to provide answers, which is really cool, This is a great community.

10%

its taking 20 turns its for medicine,

er, how do i increase funding for scientific research and stuff?

also, what do you do when your over populated in a city, like when the # is red? is there anything you should do?

Increase funding for research by using the slider, or by designating your citizens to be scientists.

As for growing the city, you need to research construction to build Aqueducts for cities not next to fresh water. This will allow them to grow from size 6 to 12. Once at 12, you need to research sanitation to build a hospital.

10% research means that you have not formed a strong economy that can easily pay for all your troops anc city improvements.

To form a strong economy, make sure that you have Marketplaces and Banks in all the cities that are close to your capital. Also, for better research build Libraries and Universities in these same cities.

Make sure that you have Roads everywhere. Not only do roads improve movement, but wherever you have a road you get +1 gold on that square.

If your cities are in the red, you do not have enough food to support your population. You need two food for each member of your population. So if your city is at 4, you need to have at least 8 food coming in. Preferably, you will have 10-13 food coming in so that the excess food gets stored. Once your stored food reaches a certain level, your population increases by one.

Grasslands give you +2 food to begin with, if you irrigate them they will increase to +3 and if you have a railroad on an irrigated grassland, you will get +4. Plains give you +1 food to begin, but you can get them up to +3 by irrigating and adding a railroad also. Flood plains give you +3 foodand you can get them up to +5.

Be careful with forests since although they give you +2 shields, you can only receive +1 food from a forest. I usually chop down all the forests except for those on Tundra.

ok, back again, please tell me, what does it mean when my city's number (?) is in yellow?

do i need to increase food again, i have to irrigate plains (which i dont like doing) (i usually irrigate grass and mine plains)

btw, i dont know how much time has passed but i've become much better at this game, especially economic wise, I earn AT LEAST 300 gold per turn while science takes only about 4 turns at the same time, and at one point, i was making over 600gpt

but anyways question^
