Computers w/ built-in radio & CD playback?

Lately, I've been hearing about 'entertainment' PCs which can play radio and CDs without having to boot up the PC. I was just wondering if anybody knew where to get components for this so I could build it into my own PC?

I'm wondering why you would want to do this when stand-alone music systems are so compact and cheap these days, not to mention the waste of a computer machine. In this way you could have the best of both worlds

it is minimal linux boot up.
