CONE1-diety 5CC modified

Ankka (nee Wizard) - just a couple of points.

Yes, PTW

We can only add 3 more cites that we build, so be sure that one gets iron. Having to take a city to get iron with archers would be a waste, considering we have the best offensive unit in the AA.

England has painted a big target on Liz's chest with that speedy tech pace, so barracks & warriors (future Immortals) are the order of the day. Spain & Babylon appear to be weak sisters that we should allow to build lots of cities for us to take from them later.

Once war begins with England, we'll need to decide whether to eliminate her or just chomp up a couple of cities and let her expand and then take another bite. Not being able to found any cities beyond #5, might mean having to let someone fill in the gaps for us if there is a lot more land on this island. Speaking of that, how about getting some warriors wandering to find out just what this land mass looks like.

BTW: Fine set of turns Gozpel

Ok, thanks, I got the point of this game and what I should be doing now. :)

The turnlog:

Preturn: Let's see... My first turns here, gotta get a look on the map, looks interesting and we'll get a good chance if there is Iron nearby. Let's hope so. Press enter.

IBT: Persepolis war > rax. Better to produce vet's.

2430BC [3]: Persepolis grows, lux rate +10%to 40.

:wallbash: Whoops, I in mistake pressed space instead of b when trying to build the silk city...

2390BC [4]: Build Susa > worker.

IBT: Persepolis rax > settler.

2350BC [5]: The workers get the jugnle cleared, and there is a bonus grassland under it! :) Pop a hut > 25 gold.

2310BC [6]:

IBT: Pasargadae war > wor. We need that energy to clear those jungles.

2270BC [7]:

IBT: Whoops, Persepolis riots.

2230BC [8]:

IBT: Persepolis settler > war.

2190BC [9]: Switch lux down a notch now as Persepolis is smaller again. IW in 1.

IBT: We research IW > I decide to gambit min science on Maths.
Persepolis war > set.

The Englis start the Colossus.

2150BC [10]: We have Iron near Pasargadae! :D

Next better player.

Nice work, looks like my job is assure the iron is ours. I'll look at the map later and post thoughts for my set.

GOT IT

I'm thinking of 1 city at the choke point N of Akkad (looks like it's on the N end of a bay - I need to check if fresh or salt water) and then either W of that to claim the incense (maybe on the coast) or E of Persepolis in under the fog. If I can blockade that penisula a the 2 choke points we'll be able to build colonies on any resource down there until ships start landing settlers. That would be at least 1 iron, 1 incense & 1 dye for trading.

Are we interested in trading IW yet?

I'm not sure I agree with 40 turns on Mathematics. We do need to get a bunch of veteran warriors and upgrade them ($$) to Immortals, so maybe it is time for pointy stick research. This might also be a good time to declare on Spain and get Babylon as an ally.

2150BC [10]: We have Iron near Pasargadae!

That's a huge relief, my ideas of new cities was focused on where iron could turn up. Who would have bet on Pasgadae? :)

Place cities where they see fit, for luxes or whatever..I'm not fussed. We have incense close by?

Good job with finding the iron. We should start building up to take out england.

I did the pre-game walk through last night and will be playing tonight. I aiming for the following goals for my 10 turns.

1. Found a city by the gold hill choke point
2. Found another city to claim the NW Incense
3. Pump out as many veteran warriors as possible (future Immortals)
4. Minimum science to build up bank for unit upgrades
5. Stay out of any wars
6. Add a culture building to each city for first level expansion

Anything else to do in the near term?

Possibly will make luxury/gpt deals, but probably not with England.

Just to confirm: England is target # 1 ???

Ok, England it is. Just wonder how good it would be for us to involve the Babs in the war. It would be nice to kick off their GA so we don't have that against us when we turn against them :)

FIRST THE SAVE

All in all a quiet set of turns - with Persopolis build a warrior every turn the army is growing pretty well. Once we get to 20, it's probably time to hook up the iron and upgrade the troops. England does have iron but it's not hooked up. We should be able to cut through their southern territory without a problem. We'll need to get tech in the peace settlement as we're quite a bit behind. The turn our attention to our southern neighbors. We'll have to discuss our victory goal sometime. If it's space or diplomat, we might want to keep Babylon around for the age change science boost. Of course Lizzy & Izzy will be joining our harem in the near future.

Nice work denyd, not much else you could've done during the lazy turns. To grab the incense is a great move and will comfort our whingeing people in the future.

Immediate plan:

Connect all cites and luxes. Continue the warrior build and save gold for the upgrades.

I think with a moderate immortal (20 or so) horde, we just take enough cities from England to get thoise techs.

For an evenual leader, what should we do with him? I say army, FP and wonders is for later. Depends tho, Glib is always good. But my first thought was an army and we will need armies in this game later on, so what you think dudes?

Future plan:

Where are we heading really? I like to mash those freaks inhabiting our continent (erh, ever heard of India:))
That was a tactical washout for the opponents and I say we should do it again. But if people like to go to the moon or be best neighbour, fine! I'm just suggesting the fun prospect of the game and if we choose to be "nice", war opportunities will be few.

Ankka@ My decision on Antioch is based on a couple of things, first, be on the coast as a future harbor city for trade, ship building & water based wonder building, second claim the Incense and finally after Arbela & Antioch have each culture expanded we'll have isolated the peninsula SW of Antioch and will be able to build iron & dyes colonies. With the 5 city limit having and couple of colonies might be required for trade or happiness. We need to send a warrior to scout the area and see what little goodies might be down there.

Wizard@ Good plan, you might even be able to start during your set. It would probably be a good idea to get Babylon involved on our side unless we want a 2-front war (think Germany 1943), we know England has the resources to bring in Babs on her side.

For the first leader, probably build an army. Getting the Heroic Epic on line makes more leaders likely. Although, if Great Library is available that's very tempting. For the FP, since were done add our own cities, it could be a while before it's available.

For the future, Izzy & Lizzy have to go. My only thought about Babs is if we decide on Space/Diplo then having a science buddy would speed up the process. If it's destined to be a conquest or domination goal, then he'll have to be head eunuch for the harem. I agree, the military victories are normally more fun (what a sick species we are :) ).
