CONE1-diety 5CC modified

I did a little more looking at this during lunch and think getting a couple of temples might also be a good idea. Expansion in Susa, Arbela & Antioch would provide additional luxs and close off the peninsula to other settlers. Then a couple of workers establish iron & dye colonies for trading.

I'm thinking the plan of attack against England should be a circular path around London. Going from Warwick to York to Hastings, using reinforcements to take Nottingham. At this time Canterbury would probably auto-raze, so no need to go their. Once Canterbury is pop 2 then add it to the list. Scratch that, Canterbury goes first to prevent iron hook up for England. Without iron or horses, our Immortals have only Archers & Spearmen to contend with. So, that's Canterbury & Warwick to start then join those two groups for the rest of the York to Hastings march. After that England will be much less of a threat. In fact it's probably good to leave Liz around to settle some more towns for us (there is the flip risk however, so starve them down right away.

You mean Gozpel, right?

--

I think he did, but he believes in your ESP talents. It was what you were going to say, right? :)

Oops, I was answering Annka's question about Antioch's placement with the first part and adding my 2 cents for Gozpel  in part 2.

What is the status on the research front?

If we go for Lit after current research, we might as well build libraries instead of temples. Also, what about the gold status...when we have enough for the necessary upgrades we can continue on full research on something.

We are quite a ways (20+) from Mathematics. Nobody has math yet, so keep researching it. We don't have writing yet and the price is very high. I thought we'd get writing from England in the first peace settlement.

We got a couple hundred in the bank. Once we get close to 20 Vet Warriors (about $800 to upgrade), we can start the upgrades and push science again.

Lol, that's the kind of research we all like :)

IT-warrior built
6-more of the same, start roading toward Arbela,

IT-warrior built

10-more of the same

We have 10 warriors in Susa. A road is completed to Arbela.

Save

Affirmative seems to have disappeared... maybe he has computer problems...

Ok, I got it.

I probably just follow conehead's setup, so next player after me get the honour :)

Ahh, I made a mess of this :) I'm too tired and unfocused after a long weekend and I never replay turns.
So Ankka, here's your chance to try your warring skills on Deity...a little bit early.

The Save

Pre-turn - Everything looks good, continue on the conehead plan. Notice how Antioch is out of whack and defenseless. Ah well, not my problem :) But I think we should have built closer, to give the AI space to plop down cities. Nevermind, those imoortals will be online soon.
England has a worker for sale....Argh, I hate leaving those, but we need the gold.

1475bc - IT - Lizzie demands 37g and out map. Nope, I say and she declares. Yikes! What was I thinking?
Change build to worker in Persepolis. Luxtax down to 10% for warhappiness.

1450bc - Persepolis worker -> continued warrior production. Send worker to iron.
Susa works forest, so barracks in 2.

1425 bc - ---

1400 bc - Arbela barracks -> spear. Workers chop forest to hurry. Susa barracks -> warrior.
Try to whack an English spear with settler up north, but warrior surprisingly lose ;) Archer was after his behind anyways.
Worker starts roading iron. Income is going down quickly, now only 7 gpt and 433 in the bank.
England settle the town of Brighton way to close, have they heard of culture?

1375 bc - IT - An English gentleman warrior attacks our city Susa guarded by 13 warriors, but we easily defend. This is quite funny...and stupid.

1350 bc - Persepolis is up to pop 9 again, use the unhappy citizen as scientist and we're up to 10 gpt...a gain of 3g. Workers chop forests and stuff around Arbela, so we can get a couple of timely spears. We need to road towards that damn Antioch as well.

Check diplo, Spain is willing to give us Myst and a gold for our WM? Or trade WM's right off. Babs will give us WM and Myst for our WM and 12g.
I trade TM with Spain for our TM and 2 g. I trade the babs our WM and 22g for Myst and their WM.
I checked our worker on the iron and he's done in 3 turns and we would be able to upgrade 10 immortals. So I thought 10 or 11 doesn't matter. I trade WM back to Isabella for her WM and 3g. Babs now pay 14g for our WM. They are both cauthious now.

Yeesh, I paid 19g for Myst and WM?

1325 bc - IT - English warrior kills one of ours.

New warrior from P-Polis kills the redlined enemy and goes elite!
Scouting warrior far west finds a GH.

1300 bc - IT - Babs kick our warrior out of their territory. Babs joins England on the crusade against Persia. Haha, I will steal their workers for that. And I did. Now that bowman will kill my warrior.
Arbela spear -> spear.
New warriors from P-Polis are sent to Pasgadae...we might have to play a bit defensive here now. Iron is connected next turn.
Warrior trips GH and gets barbs.

1275 bc - IT - Babs bowman kills our warrior. Barbs kills another. Iron online, I will upgrade some. Upgrade 6 immortals in Susa. Talk to Lizzie for fun, she wants 228g and 1gpt for peace, she will beg for peace soon enough. MM P-Polis to grow slower and build imoortals every 2 turns.

1250 bc - Have to waste a shield in Antioch to build spear when 6 Eng. warriors wanders down. A spear is on his way there, but I doubt he will save the city. Try our elite warrior against a reg warrior, he wins but no luck.

I left this in a mess, I blame it on being tired or I should have caved when the demand came...but I didn't think and here we are. Not a Grand Play, but at least it will be intersting for next player. If we lose this we know who to blame :)

We have 6 ready immortals in Susa and one in Pasgadae, I left their movements.
I saved the rest of the money for next player to upgrade where it is best. 6 Immortals will take Canterbury (pop 2), but not London?
Upgrade a few more and go for London, I say. Strike at the heart :) And save my butt!

We have a warrior shepherding a couple of Bab-workers S of their territory, keep moving'em S.

Maths is due in 10.

A GA will at least give us some leverage, when you trigger that in a couple of turns.

The worst turnlog ever.

Preturn: See where we are going. Upgrade a few warriors and send the Immortals from Susa toward Brighton & Canterbury.
Press enter.

IBT: The English bring a lot of troops towards Antioch, luckoly mainly warriors.

Persepolis im > im.
Antioch spear > spear.

1225BC [1]: Warrior attacks from Antiochia but loses. There's only one spear there Let's hope the city stands, there are reinforcements arriving next turn.

IBT: The English capture Antiochia...

Pasargadae tem > im.
Arbela spear > im.

1200BC [2]: Immortals continue the trip towards Canterbury.

IBT: Persepolis riots. :(

1175BC [3]: A scout Immortal attacks Akkad and wins, we are in a GA now.

A vet Immortal loses to a reg warrior in Brighton... Another one kills it nd razes the city.

IBT: Persepolis im > im.

1150BC [4]: A vet immortal loses to a reg spear in Canterbury.
Another one kills a reg spear.
A third one kills a reg sword.
A ffourth one kills the 1-hp reg spear and takes the city.

1125BC [5]: We lose a immortal in a battle.

IBT: Persepolis im > im.

1100BC [6]: An immortal wins a battle against a bowman and becomes elite.

1075BC [7]: The Babylonians make a counter attack and bring some bowmen into our area to threaten Pasargedae.

IBT: We lose 5 or so Immortals when the Ai attacks and wins all but one battle.

Persepolis im > im.
Arbela im > im.

1050BC [8]: We kill a couple of bowmen when we attack back.

1025BC [9]: I'm no good at war. I'll stop here so maybe the next one can save us...:(
