"Connection Error 1001"

Whenever I go to "Update Game", I am sent to Stardock but "Connection Error 1001" prevents me from downloading the latest updates. The error message box suggest that perhaps some kind of security block is preventing the downloads. I have tried doing everything that I can think of but with no success. I still always get "Connection Error 1001". Can anyone please help me? Thanks
