I bought Conquest online via download. Download successful, install manager attempts to find my civ 3 file to save conquest in appropriate location and cannot find my current Civ 3 file. I have clicked Browse and located the right folder and install still doesn't recognize it. Is there a problem with my version of Civ 3 being an Infrogames and Conquest is Atari?

Help, I am dying to play Civ with the Conquest upgrades and can't.

It shouldn't be. Most of us who had Civ3/PTW and upgraded to Conquest had the same issue, and we installed it with the same situation.

You'll probably need to contact the download provider and ask them for assistance. Does the account trying to install the game have admin rights? You'll need that to install.

I got the download to install. When I begin to play, some of the graphics are screwed up. Any screen that pops up to give me notice of my action is unreadable. The info screens in the lower left/right corners are unreadable as well. I uninstalled and reinstalled, no help. What's next? Is the Conquest folder in the wrong location and it cannot pull the correct art from the art folder?

Graphics problem

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, I'm having a problem with some graphics in Conquests; for instance all pop up windows appear as purple screens with some random icons in the background but the text is still visible. Also the lower left map is completely distorted as is all info in the lower right box.

I was experiencing the Code 28 problem but solved it thanks to the sticky in the forum (btw Thanks!) but I'm now stuck with this issue and haven't found a solution to it browsing the forums. I did see someone who had similar issues but they were able to unistall/reinstall and everything was fine. I've tried 3 times and no change.

I'm running Vista (tried it in compatability mode with XP) with a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE graphics card.

Oh and vanilla/PTW both work perfectly.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Conquests should install to a Conquests folder in your Civ3 folder. It does reference the Civ3 art files, this could be why you're having this problem.

I have read in other posts that the Conquest Art folder for internet downloaded copies are often a little screwed up b/c play is done without the CD. Some players have also said I should check the refresh rate in the ini file and make sure it is 60 for both the Civ 3 vanilla and conquest. what should i do first?
