Does anyone run the game on a p2 666 or close to that and if so how are ther scenarios running speed wise. I wont to get the game but I am fairly close on the system specs.

Along those same lines , what is the best system to run the game on. I may get a new computer early next year......thx

Min requirements are PII 400, 128 MB Ram, 800MB hard disk space, DX9.

are you sure about your processor? I've never heard of a "p2 666" before, I supposed that has Satan inside?

I've run the Mesoamerican, Mesopotamia, and Napoleonic COnquests on a PII 465 with 128 RAM. Works fine for me.

interesting ptw required 300mhz i believe (unless that was vanilla civ3.) was going to buy a laptop and now i guess i'll have to go 400+ for conquests.

Well, Im running Vanilla fine under Win95 and P233 64MB. Previously I had problems with sounds, but deleting extra click-sounds and those annoying hoorays fixed everything.
It'll be interesting to see how my 'old faithful' will handle the compulsory DX9... Anybody know a way around it?

Actually found out it was a k-7 650 with 250 ram.

Still no thoughts on the best computer to run this game?

Now that you mention it though that could explain those strange noices I here at night.

I'm running it on a 6 year old peice of crap right now, only 96 RAM, but it runs fine. No issues or anything.

My rig was built for UT and runs C3C with no problems at all.

Athlon XP 2800 cooled with Volcano 11
ASUS A7N8X motherboard
1GB Corsair PC3200
ATI 9700 Pro
WinXP

I also have a 2nd HP workstation that has these specs and runs CIV3 with no problems either.

HP Kayak Workstation
2 PII 450 Xeon processors
Nvidia Gforce2 32MB
256MB Ram
Win2k

I think running with a machine like that limits the scope of the games you can play.

A 1 ghz, 128 mb ram machine can be had for cheap these days. Ever consider upgrading?

Sorry, as I understand it DX9 refuses to install on Win95, and C3C refuses to install without DX9. The box does list Win98/ME/2000/XP as a reqirement. I feel for ya; in my opinion Win95 should still be usable.
