Consistent Warlords crash when going to next turn

Hello, folks. Civ4 and Warlords have always worked fine for me, until now. I was playing as the Russians, on a large map, and had recently reached the industrial age. My mighty armies of Cossacks were laying waste to the cowardly followers of Saladin and his allies the Zulu, when suddenly, disaster.

Whenever I try to go to the next turn in this savegame, the game crashes to the desktop. Every time. No matter what. I've tried adjusting graphics settings, all that. The save loads fine, it just CTDs when I try to advance the game. What in the world is this all about? Why does the game deny the glory of Comrade Stalin? :(

I have the latest patch. PC specs:

AMD Athlon 2500+
1 GB RAM
GeForce 7300GT AGP
Windows XP Home

Any suggestions? Other games have worked fine so far, but I'd like to continue that Russian one if I can. I had a good thing going there.

Hi

I recently had the same problem. Somewhere in the Classical era. I played Inca on a standart map... so not too much units around.
I tried several things with the last autosave 3 turns before trun X.
Stopped researching, declared war, etc.... It always ended up the same: Game crash with access violation @........

It is the first time I had this problem and I played quite a few games.... beats me.

There is a crash bug that sometimes happens with the last patch of warlords.

It involves an AI worker somewhere in neutral territory.. separated from the home lands, and blocked so it cant walk home from there (without using boats.. possible due to closed borders)... all surrounding tiles must have roads

If possible.. enter worldbuilder mode and look for such a worker (usually in a settler stack) and delete it to avoid the crash
