Constitution Discussion : Article H

Fine by me. :goodjob:

Is there anyone who would question this article? Less we degenrate into an aristocracy :)

Yes, there are those who would question it. What will happen if there are insufficient candidates, and several offices go unfilled. What then if nobody will accept an appointment? The President would then have all the powers of all the unfilled offices. Would it not be better to spread that power among multiple people?

My proposal is to allow multilple leadership positions, except that the President and Chief Justice cannot hold other positions. This leaves us an "out" for the case where we can't find anyone to take a job, while protecting the people from one person essentially taking over the game.

i think think we shouldn't have elections and one person hold all positions, and that person should be me, o wait thats a regular civ game

DaveShack: I just can't see something like that in the Constitution. Let's lose that idea.

Bigmeat:

Maybe a Prime Minister is requeried in DG5 who will supervise the other ministers and if someone is missing it will be replaced by Prime Minister until somebody accept the job.
This way there will be only 2 players mandatory in order to start or during the game: President and Prime Minister.

Article H:
President and Ministers must be distinct people.
Prime Minister and only the Prime Minister can replace
a missing other Minister but cannot replace the President.

They must be da stink people??? Oh, hey. I qualify for that...

Well, to simplify things, lets work on the assumption that we do have enough people to fill the positions. If that should turn out not to be the case at some point, the mods can step in and temporarily change that part of the constitution so the game can progress. I do not want people holding more than one position unless it is absolutely necessary.

Proposed Article H poll:

Code:
Article H. No person shall hold multiple positions of leadership
            (President, Department Leader, Judiciary, Provincial
            Governor) simultaneously.
