I have a really cool way to play civ 3. It is how i always play. Ok so go in to the civ editor, pick a map or another mod and load it. Then go to general settings in rules and make min and max tech 100 turns, for both
Now find the number of years that go by per turn, and make EVERY one just 1 year per turn. save the map AS A NEW NAME!!! Now go play!!
what will happen is all research only happens every hundred years. So you may not invent a tech. You will have plenty of time to acquire the techs the other civs have reasereshed, and the game will flow EXACTLY to real time. You will have giant wars, maybe many in each era. Big caveman wars!!! Maybe its not for you, but try it out, you just might like it. This will take VERY long to play a game, but it feels really cool when you can have a 300 year war in 1,000 bc.
And i think this makes playing on the harder difficulties more fun, because the whole world develops together for the most part.
This is my first post in civfanatics, and maybe somebody else already has had this done, besides anybody can go and change it. Please let me know if you think this is a fun way to play.
