Cooperative Roleplay-based IAAR

Maybe in the later ages:
Spoiler :

King -> President
Great General -> same
Workers -> same
Missonaries -> same
Nobles/land owners -> CEOs of mega-corporations?
Scouts/explorers -> ambassadors
Great Admiral -> same
Barbarian leaders -> I don't really get what the ancient concept was so can't really apply it to the future XD
City-State leaders -> same
"Great Writers"/writers -> same
"Great Artists"/artists -> same
Cartographers -> same
??? -> Scientists
??? -> Doctors (could accompany military units and maybe write stories when taking the +50 health upgrade or just fortify and heal. Those 50 health have to come from somewhere after al XD)

I might edit in some more if I come up with any more ideas. And note that from dot80's suggestion, I changed "Make a map" into cartographers, because I believe that is what the profession is called. Also, the spies that you get from the Renaissance should all be included as they are introduced into the game.

Barbarian leaders ->Terrorist Leaders.

We could also roleplay specialists.

I'm currently playing through the beginning turns and writing the first post for the IC. Should be done in another day or two.

Good to hear, I'm looking forward to starting.

I would really like to be a cartographer and a spy later on. Just saying so I can get dibs later xD

I havent finished playing yet, but i can garuntee the position of king, worker, warrior, archer-scout (potentially powerful with longbow upgrade because of movement bonus), lord of second city, and anything not requiring a unit representation in game.

As for me, I'm introducing the story as a storyteller giving the history of the English people, and I may continue with this by telling other epics and such of our fictional country.

I might take the archer-scout, if that's alright.

So the posts in the IC thread will be each of us writing stories about our individual characters' actions in the game?

I would like to be the lord of the second city, I have already planned for a city (but not country) leader.

I also would like to control a specialist, and if possible, a second scout if you're okay with it. I planned to be many roles due to only a few of us playing. I also expect more people to join if this becomes successful.

That and whatever else you want. If you wanna develop your character and have them fall in love or go through some great quest you can. I want you all to have the freedom to write whatever you want and I highly encourage storylines that deviate from focusing just on the game. I just want to remind everyone about the time jumps when you are planning your stories. Each turn will be a jump of 6 months to a year (yet to be determined). You will havei about a week (or longer if you need) for each time. You can make multiple posts in each time if you wish however. If really need be we can postpone the turn switch but in general that is how it will be.

Multiple roles are fantastic! As many as you want you can have! I also hope more will join once the game gets going.

I might take a worker and perhaps a ship crew later on. But I'll gladly give up some of my characters if we get more people.

Edit: And maybe a warrior, too, since no one else seems to be taking military roles. Now, what could I do if I get control of the whole army? :mischief:

Since no one seems to have claimed it, I'd play the king unless someone else is really dying to.

I would like to be a GG. I figure I won't rage too hard at the bad AI if this is a group story.

I personally think a story about a ship crew would be interesting. Excited to see what happens with that.

Finally I was afraid I'd have to do it!

Sounds great though it may be a little wait before one pops up if you wanted to choose a different role for now.

Quote and add on just to organize things perhaps?

xnira: cartographer/mapmaker, a spy, monarch, naval unit
dot80: storyteller/wandering bard/tabloid writer
Heerlo: initial scout/archer, worker, naval unit, warrior
Bfoxius: guv'ner of the second city, specialist, second scout
