Corrupt patches..?

Hi,

Iv exhausted all the options of this forum,there was no answer for me in these posts.

My problem is firstly,failed instalation from the auto updater in game ever time.

My second problem which is more than likely related,is ALL the patches i downloaded have been corrupt or invalid.Everyime i try to open them i get the error message.

Im going mad without online play,can anyone help???

Perhaps you've bought the game online via Direct2Drive, in that case, you'll have to search for different patches on their website.

If you bought online then do as Crunch suggests, the usual patch route is not suitable for your game.

If you have a CD or DVD version the best place to get the file is from is the Firaxis support page. If you have any download accelerators you should perhaps try disabling them first, they can cause corruption problems in some instances.

If, after all this, you're still stuck, I have a good copy of the 1.61 patch file you could try (send me a PM, I can u/l to a website for you). It is 48MB+ so do try the other avenues first.

I'm sure I've read somewhere here that the official site is a more reliable file source than other sites and your experience seems to confirm this.
