Could I win this game?

In a current King level game, I have taken over my continent, and have a population of just under 3 million, and it's 1850 already.

Meanwhile Greece has taken all of its continent except for the small Spanish empire on the far west, and they have a population of 38 million and are allied to all except one of the city states in the whole world.

Is this winnable?

Give some more info are you ahead in tech or are you both even?

Also what are your vital stats liked compared to them e.g. gold, gpt, happiness, culture etc.

If you look at their army is it reliant on resources? Could you attack and hold/pillage those resources etc.

Is their capital on the coast... 10 destroyers and a melee unit could do it in 1-2 turns

Uploading a screen shot would be handy.

I've managed to win a diety game at 10-1 ratio cities. Hard but fun.

At king, yeah ofcourse. As others said, stealth bombers and mech infantry should do the job.

Go straight at his cap, make sure you have enough melee to survive any fighters or artillery he has.

Well, he is about a dozen techs ahead of me. To put things into perspective, I've only just researched Manhattan Project and he has already deployed nuclear subs (i.e. he's at computers or above, I have not researched electricity yet).

So, how do you compete with the AI when separated by continents and the AI takes over their entire continent? Is it really just a case of dropping nukes on them? That will set them back but won't help me win.

I've won a Science Victory a few times when I was pretty low on the "points" leader board. Btw, I've gone back to Prince from King and Emperor lately....I just don't like the AI anymore on those two levels....too NRA (stupid) for me....

That does not sound good. I think diplomacy is probably out. With his CS special ability, you're not likely to woo them away, especially since I assume he has tons of gold. Are you any where close to culture? Probably not, or you wouldn't be asking. Is he building the space ship? If so, then you aren't likely to be able to stop him unless his capital is vulnerable as the others suggested. If you can take Athens out--and that Spanish empire, if they still have Madrid--then you'd win domination.

I just now got out of a game on King because Hiawatha started building the Spaceship...it was 1941 and I was in the middle of the pack on points. I had most a continent with a great resource map...shame I always play Epic and a large continent map reduced to standard number of players and city-states. I boosted science everyway I could but the AI had too many advantages (for me anyway)...I was strong enough in the military way that no one declared war on me, but that's why I'm going to back to Prince where the playing field is level, fun factor 'higher'

I started from scratch - CHina, Continents, King. This time I had a good throw of the dice and I was located on the biggest of the two continents. I leveraged China's excellent warmongering prowess (Cho-Ku-No are fabulous, doubly so if you don't have the iron for catapults) and basically treated the initial part of the game like a straightforward Pangea slog-fest.

By the time I'd conquered all the capitals on my continent and razed every other city, it was still the pre-rifle era and there was only a short stretch of water separating me from the remaining civs, who were all peaceful types (Gandhi, the Polynesians, SIam), and I landed my Cho-Ku-No, canons (these are key) and longswordsmen. I beelined to rifling and upgraded my guys.

I stomped through the second continent and won a domination victory with 3150 points. So pleased!
