Could this be winnable?

So, taking a break from Civ V, I went back to Civ3 to play some games, looking through my saves I saw a very old game my friend and I played together on hotseat. I was Egypt, he was the Byzantines (but he renamed to The Ship People). He intentionally did poorly and we were allied.

We abandoned the game when he lost interest because he was in a bad war with the two most powerful players. I saw the game and loaded it up, and I began to wonder if anything I could do could make the game winnable as the Ship People (or maybe just prevent destruction ) , simply ignoring any Egypt turn, turning governor on and fortifying or automating anything made for egypt. The game is only on Regent, but that's the difficulty I like to play on. I played for a bit (not on the save I'm giving you) and made peace with the AI, but apparently my friend had a MPP with the weakest nation that was also at war with the same AI as him  so it was worthless.

Can anyone look at the save and see what I'll need to do? Thanks :)

Not been able to tear away fromV yet, but will try to look in the morning prior to starting on V. If I load up V, then I won't be able to stop. :D

Probably not, unless you get lucky and have rubber. You would need to shift gears. You are spending 39gpt on maint of buildings. Most of them are happy structures or science.

Problem is you are making zero beakers. Why cath on Regent? Why grab those tiny junk islands? Why no workers? Why no attackers?

I can guess at some of this, but you have to bust out of that little corner and that will be rough. You were in a corner at the start, so you must expand quickly to the west or get boxed in and choked.

Don't make happy things at this level, make workers and attackers.

From here, you have get some comabt and get leaders for armies. Beeline for infantry and make artillery. Get a worker or two to make a few barricades to funnel incoming to a killing ground.

To clarify: the Ship People were played by my friend (who normally plays on Chieftain), and to an extent he tried to do poorly. He ended up capturing Russia and most of Korea, but the Aztecs took them. He lost most of his units in Russia and he got whittled down in his mainland, one of his cities, the easternmost one is only still his because I took it back for him. He insisted on being the owner of those islands too.

Oh well, I was just looking to see if I could somehow pull it off :mischief: Thank you for looking at it though. I might give it a couple more shots before I put the game away.

edit: more clarification, the game was last played six months ago, and I was not too much better than my friend at the time.

I had forgotten you said that, about goofing off. Anyway sell off some structures and pop a couple of workers and try the funnel. I may even go hard core and disband those island or if you have a unit there, move the units inside and gift the towns to a far away civ.

This gets the units back to the capitol to man the defense.
