Are there any methods to counter enemy spies? Every turn these 'no-see-ums' destroy my mines/wells/etc.

Also is there any way to see what enemy cities have which wonders/buildings? i.e. by using spies of my own?

thanks

I am not sure if Spies actually work in detecting other spies. In my current game, I fell victim to constant sabotage acts against my oil wells. I stuck one spy on top of one of my oil resources, but I could not uncover the enemy spy. Perhaps I am missing something or perhaps it is a bug.

I think spys can detect spys. So having a few spys every few cities will help.

That would only work if you had like a total number of one city since you can only have a small number of spies.

You could always just plop some extra spies down with worldbuilder. Also, I don't think it is possible to catch another spy because I had the same problem as Multiplicity where the enemy civ's spy kept taking out my one oil well and even if I left a spy on it he still would stil destroy it.

4 spies is enough to have it in 4 corners of your civ, so if u see trouble, just move that spy around on ur railroads to intercept the trouble maker.

I keep one in my borders to move from here to there and watch for enemy spies. I don't just park them in a city, I actively move it and watch. I havent caught one yet, but Im sure one is there. Enemy landed two caravels on coast and then turned around and left the wway he came. I havent been sabotaged yet though.
I didnt know there was a spy limit. Thats funny cause I sent two spies to russia (permanent ally) and gifted them to him.
Also, if you catch one, what do you with it? Attack it with troops?

spies can't see other spies

park units on vital resources too. the more units are present the more likely the enemy spy will be caught when sabotaging. very satisfying when you are informed an enemy spy had been "liquidated" hehehe

Is there a specific button you hit to make them more likely expose an enemy civ's space because I planted a spy on my lone oil well to protect it from rival spies and it still has been destroyed three times and when I of course use another spy to destroy another civ's oil well my spy gets destroyed on the first try:mad::mad::mad:.

Will having military units on the tile increase the chances of exposing the spy?

Yes, military units catch spies, while I have never had a spy uncover an enemy spy. Like others, I used to place a spy on my oil well - now I just put a SAM infantry or three - works against spies and bombers alike.

The number of spy is now limited. They have some useful function such as revealing details of AI cities, sabotage, and detect other spies. Having military or spy reduces chances of sabaotage but still I managed to destroy the AI mines in one game. Really satisfying experience! But, I miss the steal tech option!

If you want to see wonder cities, just use F8 (or F9?). Every top cities usually has wonders. You can see wonders that have been built there too. More details? Then you should use spy.

I know putting anything on top of land resources to guard it from Modern Armors and SAM infantry to workers and infantry will discourage it from being bombed or even attacked by a rival nation unless you use workers which actually encourages attack but how do military units catch spies because I also had three SAM infantry, one modern armor, one mech infantry, and six workers to fix the well asap in cause the friggin invincible spy strikes again besides the spy. Also, in case you haven't already figured this out in the end of the game I used my major stockpile of ~50 nukes to destroy the world one turn from my diplomatic victory but after everyone voted and could not change their votes so they would vote for me even though I just reduced their lands to rubble:).

Yea the chance of the sabotage failing increases with the amount units guarding it. I seen the AI do this. I blew up a mine, then ran off. He moved a worker with an SAMinfantry in to repair it. I went back to watch and the chance of success had dropped from 90% to 74% because of the guard.
Also if the city is a "capitol" center (palace, forbidden P, Versailles) then the chance INCREASES. I went to one city, 4 troop units- 51% chance of success
Then I went to his capitol with like 12 troop units- 76% chance of success.
