Returning player from a bit of time away.

When an Industrial Zone's benefits extend to cities "within 6 tiles", how are the six tiles counted? Specifically, does the zone count as tile zero or tile 1?

Example:

Zone Tile Tile Tile Tile Tile City
Zone Tile Tile Tile Tile City

Thanks!

The top one.

For a QOL update I think it would be nice if when you were placing these regional benefit type buildings/wonders/zones there would be a white border showing the range. It's annoying having to count 6 tiles out all the time...

There is a mod for that. No update ever breaks it. It's called Radial Measuring Tool.

Something to note about Radial Measuring Tool - whereas the game doesn't count the origin tile as part of the radius, the radial measuring tool does. So for instance, in order to see what counts as "within 6 tiles" of an industrial zone, you'd have to set the center on that tile and set the radius to 7, not 6. Took me way too long to figure that one out...

I think there is a checkbox where you can enable it to count like civ does. I think the mouseover even says it counts like the game if you check the box.

I just checked and you're absolutely correct. Now I feel even more foolish... whoopsies
