Hello fellow CivPlayers:
I recently installed Civ4 and its two expansion packs onto my laptop after about a two year hiatus: My PC mobo is crashed, so my laptop is my primary gaming device.
Needless to say, I used to love playing Civ4 and its expansion on this machine... but after reinstalling all three yesterday, I found that I was ONLY able to play vanilla and warlords.
For some reason, almost immediately after booting up BTS, the game crashes to desktop. I've updated to 3.19, but no avail. The message I get is this:
Error Signature:
AppName: civ4beyondsword.exe
AppVer:3.19
ModName:binkw32.dll
ModVer: 1.8.6.0
Offset: 0002235e
I believe that since it crashes on the firaxis splash screen (I actually don't even see the screen, I only hear the first second and a half of the sound of it,) and also given that it's mentioning the bink file, my guess is that its the bink.dll that's the culprit. Anybody else have this issue with BTS?
Thanks!
