I have an above average system, and I've had NO PROBLEMS AT ALL playing this game, until today. After five and a half hours of hard negotiating and warring, I was sailing a galleon across the sea when all of the sudden...ptttt!
My screen turned all sorts of beautiful rainbow-esque colors, and then after five to ten seconds of flashes and stuttering, it rested (frozen solid) with a tannish-green baby-poop color covering my entire screen, except for a few small areas, where I could see my now frozen and defunct game, that I had been enjoying so happily and merrily only seconds before, through what looked like picket-fence slats of video chaos. It was bound to happen eventually. I'm running an nvidia GeForce 6600 PCI Express. I shouldn't be having ANY PROBLEMS at all!!!!!!!
Here's where it gets tricky. After all that time I spent trying to conquer the darn French, and then being so close to victory, I figured I would just go get my most recent autosave (supposedly the game autosaves every three turns, I think, at least the manual says so), and pick up where I left off, after, of course, unplugging my computer, restarting it and dealing with its inherent anger at being used and abused. But when I went into the game at the Load Game screen, I didn't see any "autosave" files anywhere. So...could someone please tell me where they are. I would really like to finish beating the crap out of Napolean! Or is it Napoleon? I'm so flustered, I just don't remember!
Thanks in advance, Atreyu
P.S. They really need to assess all the problems people are reporting on this website quickly, and expedite a patch before someone's computer blows!
