Crashes (with Vista, a crash to desktop coupled with a report that the game has stopped working) at end of turn. I saw a few other folks in the main forum with what sounded like a similar issue, so thought I'd throw the saved game in. please, no making fun of my lack of skills! :)

Hey Jeffreyac... I'll give you the same answer... try this here:

Try listing your system specs... that may help narrow it down. Also... I'm in the middle of updating to a new version which is incompatible with previous version saves... I wasn't able to check out your save file... at what point in the game did it crash (how far in... how long were you playing... what were you doing... etc, etc). Setting-up what you were doing prior to the crash helps.

I haven't noticed any random crashes in the mod in any of my games, but that's not to say it's impossible to happen... you can either update Lt.Bob's patch from v4.0 (included in the Wolfshanze Mod download) to v4.0e found here, or (if you're not using 34-civs) simply delete the GameCore.DLL that comes with the mod all-together... it is NOT required for anything other then the 34 civs and the nuclear fallout option... though if you do decide to delete the gamecore.dll with the mod, make sure you change-back the Fallout back to default global warming as explained in the Wolfshanze Mod readme file ("what's new in v2.3" covers how to do this).

You CAN play the Wolfshanze mod without Lt.Bob's gamecore.dll... it's only used for 34-civ maps and the nuclear fallout option. I've not had any problems on my end, so not sure what to tell you other then that... Lt Bob's DLL is the only part of the mod I don't have direct control of.

Also... some save files may get corrupted... usually restoring a save file from one or two turns previous to the problem you're having WILL solve the problem. You may have to replay a turn or two, but I have found this often saves "irreversible" crash problems that you have with a particular save/saving-point. This "corrupted save file" problem I've noticed exist in default Civ4 without any mods... usually just restoring a differant save file fixes the problem.

Lemme know if that fixes the problem, preferably in the Wolfshanze Mod thread, as I don't get here very often. ;)

I upated to Lt.Bob's v4.0e. It appeared at first to help but still having crash problems.
I reverted back bhruic's 3.13 gamecore.dll and no crashes since.

The additional units fit quite nice, feels like a more natural progression. Excellent work Wolf!!!

I was trying to play with 24-30 civs on huge maps, marathom speed and get to anywhere between 250 to 450 turns. It doesn't matter how far back I go with the save games, once it crashed it won't go past that turn.

I'm running a duo core2 2.66 ghz, 2 gig ram and ati x1900 with 512 mb. I would think it should be able to handle it.
