Crashing on pop up windows

I seem to be experiencing a rather frustrating issue where the sound/music or perhaps the pop up dialogue boxes themselves are crashing the client alot. Most times a CS, Era milestone, or tech complete music and dialogue box appear with the music i get a message that CiV has stopped responding and needs to close.

I've tried updating drivers for my NVDIA card, etc. and have even reinstalled DirectX to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue?

Any ideas on what else it could be, I was thinking a sound card issue but alas all my other games run fine.

Still struggling with this issue, it seems like a hardware conflict or sound card issue but I can't seem to resolve it. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
