Crashing while trying to update to 1.61

I recently installed Civ IV on my new computer, but I'm having trouble upgrading the game using the new patch.. I get a feature transfer error (see pic), I tried both downloading the patch throu the game and downloaded the exe-file from a link here but I get roughly the same error mesg, using winxp+sp2 swedish version, tried reinstalling the game with same mesg as result.
Help?

Are you using the Direct2Drive version of Civ4 that you can buy online? They have different set of patches, see their website.

If not, can you provide a translation for the swedish word(s) in the error message?

yes... tried getting it to work for 6 hours yesterday.
Odd thing is Im having similuar problems with Battlefield 2. Installation works nice but when trying to upgrade to latest version it gets troublesome... Often both games complain about some file in .cab not beeing the proper one.
Does anyone have a list of what files get updated? I might be able to try some kind of 'manual' update.

You should go to the Direct2Drive website and download a patch there. They have different patches.

As for 'manual' update, I did some research on that...

Thanx for the link... tried it but didnt work properly.. couldnt extract some files but I'll try tampering alittle more with it tomorrow.

This might be abit too much to ask for but can someone post a pic so I can see what files are supposed to be in the main dir and the size of them so I know what files I need..
Also abit odd that many of the files I extract out of the setupfile are 0kb size. And the data2.cab file won't even open most of the time....
If I don't get this too work soon I think I'll try to install ajnother version of windows on my computer isntead...

I am attaching a complete directory and subdir listing of my Civ4 folder. It is a rar file (renamed zip because I could not attach it otherwise). Inside is a txt file.

BTW as I understood it, you don't have to unpack data2.cab. Or something. Data1.cab should be all. Maybe.

Acually got it to work, kinda... Only file in patch that didn't work was the Civilization4.exe file. I eventually had to download it from someone at dc++ (yeah I know, but if the orginal doesnt work the help is needed).. but now it works atleast. Only error mesg I get now and then when starting is

xml\text\civ4gametxt_civilopedit_bonuses.xml....

Current XML file is xml\text\civ4gametext_civilopedia_units.xml

Plus a whole bunch of text, but I'll chekc into that some other day - atleast now I can play.
