Creating the Third Province

The East is a land full of opportunities for Fanaticans, but it needs the firm guidance of a Governor to make it grow. It’s time to discuss the borders of our third province, to be located on our East. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is therefore announcing a call for proposals on the establishment of borders for those lands. We would strongly prefer that all borders extend all the way to the ocean, and would not object to a fourth province being plotted, even if it has none, or one city in it.

We remind all citizens that provinces must contain no more than 128 tiles, and that water tiles (coastal, sea and ocean – this includes lakes) do not count towards that total.

Proposals that use natural boundaries are considered a Good Thing(tm).

Thanks!

I have interest in this thread because I will be the new Governor when the new province is set up. Right now I am focusing on job hunting. If I have energy to spare, I will continue with my governmental duties.

Perhaps I will hold on long enough to name the new province :D

This might help some. I'll try to get a more complete image up tonight.

I have posted a proposal earlyer in Term 2 about the 3rd provance. Ill bring it back up as soon as I can find it :).

Here is my border proposal from Term 2 of this demogame.

CG - what's the tile count on that? It appears to be well over the limit (see first post).

Alternatively, here's one that follows the coast a bit further to the East, then the line of mountains just below Moscow before coming back to the lake. This one's 126 tiles.

edit: there should be screenies in these 2 posts, but there seem to be problems with the uploads folder...

Here's CG's version on a newer map (sorry- missing city names). I had to adjust the lower edge of the province to reduce the tile count a bit, but it's still 136 ish - is this classed as no more than approximately 126 tiles?

Nope - approximately is there so that if a province needs to go over by a couple of tiles to get a good border, that's fine.

10 tiles? Way too much.

And now, with maps for the South. We have 1 proposal for the East - I will be polling the borders in 3 days.

Woohoo! 1 proposal for a province in the South, and two proposals for provinces in the East.

Poll will be going up tomorrow - if you've got a suggestion or have a comment - post it soon.

Current poll plan: two polls, one for the South, one for the East, each asking for if new provinces should be created, if so, which plan.

South:
-- Yes, use the proposal below, and create 1 province
-- No, we don't need a new province in the South
-- Abstain

East:
-- Yes, use proposal A below, and create 1 province
-- Yes, use proposal B below, and create 2 provinces
-- No, we don't need a new province in the East
-- Abstain

EDIT: Changed West to East  Thanks Rik!

If my red border and Furiey's light-blue border is tweaked just a little bit; my 2 and Furiey's 1 province fit both.
Currently there are 2 tiles overlap. I'm sure Furiey and I can work that out.

You can then post a 3 provinces poll.

P.S. change "west" to "east" in post #17

Thanks for the correction.

Absolutely agree with the three provinces stuff!

As an option, if you Furiey and yourself can work out that small difference, and Furiey withdraws his Eastern province proposal - we could actually go with an up or down vote on all three provinces. The MIA would very much support that!
