Crossroads: "you have been defeated" at 1st round

I have played all Civ4 and BTS scenario, 1 by 1 and in the order it appears in the scenario menu.
Now I try to play "Crossroads of the World".
Impossible:
When I choose the Ottoman (Mehmed II), Monarch then rename it, the mod starts, and when it opens I immediately get the screen that I have been defeated!!!
I tried this 3 times, same thing.
Does it happen to someone else?? I saw nothing about this in this forum...

added:- This problems happens with all leaders.
- I use original version: 3.0.0.91 (74697). (I will only patch with the coming release)

I had the came problem playing with Korea in....RFC? i didn't bother to try with same civ again, i don't like Korea much anyway (as a civ, Real Korea rocks!)

I have heard of No-CD fixes causing such things. Usually you have to remove them and use the proper files.

It could also be that you are not using the most current patches. Until you patch your game with 3.03, Solver's patch, or even the upcoming one, I doubt you'll get it fixed. Other than that I haven't a clue.

No, I do not use nocds: it is the original dvd bought 420 rands (South African currency it is about 65 usd) at a shop called "Game" in Nelspruit, RSA...
I am going to uninstall Warlords. It is a French version I bought when going back home (I work in Africa) last Christmas and I suspect some patches do not like mixtures anyway...

Problem solved!

After applying the official patch 3.13, it works fine.
HOWEVER, if I apply the non official patch 3.13, problem remains!
