Crown of Glory: EE, an AAR from the French point of view

You need to convince Britain that you're going to die unless he helps you. If you die, see, Spain gets to be an almost automatic win from its Glory, right? Or something close to that?

So, convince Britain you're dying and get them to DOW Spain.

HOWEVER...

They may just jump in like vultures and join Spain and take what they can before Spain gets all of you. Which would not be good for France... :p

Well, they have only conquered my provinces, they will not be able to keep them after the peace treaty.
When peace is reached, the winning side gets a number of victory points to spend towards his defeated enemy.
The victory points takes into account:
-number of casualties
-legal skills of the diplomats of the winning AND the losing side
-casualties inflicted
-territory captured

So, if the war was to end now, I guess he would be able to seize 3 or 4 of my provinces, still alot of France left if that is what happens ;)

Sorry for the late updates, been far too busy irl lately.
Anyway I will now give quite a few posts to get this AAR up to date again.

Turn 62

Although the war on land does not go too well, at sea the Spaniards are terrified of our superior fleet. I also decided to keep my fleet at sea so that Spain cannot bring supplies through the Med.

Turn 63

Alot of Spanish armies are reported to be located in Southern France. I know that all of these cannot be armies, as there is no way Spain can afford the cost. So I need to know which is an army and which is only single divisions and or corps. Our diplomats will have to be recalled!

Turn 64

We are ready to counterstrike. We have gathered some information about the Spanish forces and moved our own armies to Burgundy. If this fails, we will have lost the war!

The main question now is; just how big is the Spanish army?

Turn 65

We delay our attack one turn to fill up a few more divisions, so nothing really happens this turn. So this might be a good time to take a look at the situation in Europe.

Turn 66

It is payback time!
We order our armies to march, and we are going to try to cut Spanish supply lines like they did to us earlier with devastating effect. This is the "Do or Die"-Day of France!!

Turn 67

Ares, Anat, Bast, Brahma, Tor, Kali, Mars and Set are only a few gods that have been called Gods of War.
The important thing is, they are obviously all French!
A good result from our troops see the entire situation turn around!

Turn 68

Operation "Kick the Dons around" continues.
Another stunning victory for our forces, and we even capture enemy artillery.
What is even better is the fact that the enemy army retreats north! Further away from their supply lines and into disaster. Our morale is increasing every turn while the Spanish is dropping like a sack of bricks.

We also see good news from our Ottoman allies. They are still wrecking havoc in Austria! If this keeps up, we might be able to force the Spanish to surrender and turn around and march on Vienna once more.

My main concern now is Britain, with a change of the King (the original player has been substituted), they have gone from Pro-France to Anti-France. I can therefore safely guess that they do not want me to win too many wars...

Turn 69

While we continue to wreck havoc amongst the Spanish army, our economy could be far better than it is. We make a little profit, but not nearly enough to give financial aid to Turkey or Russia. It now actually takes us 4 turns to save up enough money to make a Millitia which we need to regarrison the cities captured and retaken from the Spanish. Hopefully we will manage to break Spain soon!
In the forum over at Matrixgames a wish was posted to show my OOB, so here it is:

Seems spain is done for. Only question now is how long it'll take you to make them surrender. This also means that Austria have to act soon or they'll have to face France and Turkey alone again. You also have to worry about the british joining the fray so getting this war over and done with as soon as possible is best course of action. However Austria's army is still intact and isn't it at least more numerous compared to either of you? All in all, Austria has been strangely passive in this war.

Btw, how long would you estime it'll take for Spain to rebuild it's army if you manage to demolish most of it now?

Well, Spains army is down by some 250.000 men, so depends how many recruits Spain can afford to draw each turn, but it should be atleast 15-20 turns to completely rebuild her armies.
Well Austria is not doing too well, Turkey has been doing extremly well against her, and now Russia has once more attacked Austria as well, so Austria is in a hard spot. If/when I break Spain I will head to Austria as well to help knock her out.

Britain is the reason why I have not made any attempts to seize the Spanish fleet (which would be doable). If I seized the entire Spanish fleet Britain would DoW me for sure, but she seems happy giving finacial aid to Austria and Preussia for the moment. Preussia too is another wildcard in the mix, their army is god and well led so I hope I can finish the ongoing war before either Britain or Preussia joins in.

There is also alot of rumors about a secret treaty between Britain and Austria, so it might be too late for me to keep Britain out of the war...
