As in all CTIV games, roster sign-up is NOT first-come first-serve. Players I have previously played an SG with will have priority on roster slots (although, of course, all are welcome to lurk). Warlords is required ;)

I'd like to be in, but I'm sort of a succession game noob. Sounds very interesting though.

Out of curiosity, why did you announce this game so early? Who knows how many SGs I'll be in in a month? Sounds fun, but I think my first warlords SG will have to be won as the Vikings. They just sound so cool.

What happened to CTIV-10? And does this mean I will have to shell out another $40ish for Warlords. I like your roster methods - it stops you playing with a lot of dead-heads.

@Rex: I like to give people plenty of time to prepare in advance so that they won't be overburdened when it's time to start the game :D ... since this game is Epic, you can start it first but finish another SG beforehand ...

@Ruff_Hi: CTIV-10 (Peacenik Re-education Camp Redux) isn't ready to go yet. Need to see all the changes in Warlords first. And no, it's only $30 for Warlords ;)

Fair enough, I didn't know that was your SOP. But seeing Ruff's comment and yours, it makes sense. I'd be interested, but I don't know when the heck my computer situation will be back to civable. Probably before August though, I would think.

Well, to be honest, I usually don't start up this early, but I was so excited by the Ottoman UB I said "Now ChrTh, you've GOT to do this game!" and I didn't want anyone else to have the same idea ;)

@picardathon: I've added you as an alternate. Since this game won't start for a month, go play some that are currently out there, you should be able to find one or two that need players.

What about CTIV-8 then? :mischief: :D

Ditto. In fact, CTIV-8 will probably be my next game (after this one, of course), once I do an evaluation of the UBs and new Civs.

I'm game. I'm in the process of working out a Eastern Roman Empire themed variant based on the Hagia Sophia, and this fits fairly well into that.

For those unfamiliar with the Turkish UB, I provide this Wikipedia article snippet:

Hammam

The Turkish hammam (also Turkish bath or hamam) is the Turkish variant of a steam bath, which can be categorized as a wet relative of the sauna. They had played an important role in Ottoman culture, serving as places of social gathering, ritual cleansing and as architectural structures, institutions, and (later) elements with special customs attached to them.

In Western Europe, the Turkish bath as a method of cleansing the body and relaxation was particularly popular during the Victorian era. The process involved in taking a Turkish bath is similar to that of a sauna, but is more closely related to the bathing practices of the Romans.

Taking a Turkish bath firstly involves relaxing in a room (known as the warm room) that is heated by a continuous flow of hot dry air allowing the bather to perspire freely. Bathers may then move to an ever hotter room (known as the hot room) before plunging themselves into a cold pool. After performing a full body wash and receiving a massage, bathers finally retire to the cooling-room for a period of relaxation.

In Turkey, the advent of modern plumbing systems, showers, and bathtubs in homes caused the importance of hammams to fade in recent times.

@Nares, I've added you to the roster

I've milled it over, and I think I'll sign up for this one. I thing a SG will be a good way to get going in Warlords, after getting our feet wet slightly in single player.

I guess my first posts language was sort of weak.
I'm signing up, but this will be my first succession game.

@Maquis: There are other ways to play besides SG?

@picardathon: I really want experienced SG players for this one, so I'm going to keep you as an alternate.

I'd like to play this one for sure.

But...I'm not sure yet that the release date for Europe is before your game starts. I'll try to find that out if you'd have me. :)

Sina, you're in. That's a full roster, but I'll still accept Alternatives as well (just in case some people have issues getting the expansion, etc)

Alright gang, after much consultation with Psychics and Tarot Cards (hey, that'd be a good Civ-4 cross-promo items ... I'll play the 4 of Beakers) the August 6th 'launch' date might be scrubbed. Since I don't want the players in the roster to miss out on other Warlords games (it's shipping tomorrow!), I'm releasing them and the game is tentatively ON HIATUS. I'll PM those interested when/if the game is ready to start.

Hey - how long is this game on HOLD?
