Cultural/Race differences

I read a different post which gave me this idea, but I must credit the originality to Europa Barbarorum for Rome Total War. Here it is.

Since youve already created races and, according to all mythology and whatnot, some hate eachother and are clearly different, there wouldnt be a smooth transition if you conquer a different race. My idea adds on to your original idea of having race specific buildings, but it is to your benefit to destroy/upgrade these buildings if you are a different race/completely different culture. Upon capturing one of these cities, you must build a building (call it regional pacification or whatever) wherein your units are "scouring the city and country side putting down rebellions". You cannot build any other building in the city or build any type of unit until this is completed. After all, how can you successfully govern a province if the whole region is in anarchy?

An example:
Im an elf nation and I capture a goblin city. They're racial buildings are causing me unrest. If I cannot upgrade them, it will be harder to rule and I should destroy them (maybe getting production from the material or gold - call it pillaging). Before the turn is over I need to select the regional pacification option (lasting one or two turns) before I can do anything productive with the region. Since turns last anywhere 1 year to 50, this makes perfect sense as your own people begin to subjugate the other race.

this can of course be molded about to fit into FFH2 better but I hope you get the idea

We had talked a bit about managing the populations of the cities, 30% elven, 70% human, etc etc. But were we to do the work to put a system like that in place I just don't see the fun that comes out of it. It brings a level of realism, and we could setup requirements based on it (so you need some elves in a city to make an elven building or unit) and we may even be able to tune boosts based on it (a brewry makes the dwarven population happy but the elven population unhappy or whatever).

But in the end it seems that the fun provided (and it would be somewhat fun) isn't equal to the complexity it adds. So at least at this point we havent done anything with the idea.

what about adding race architecture or even more a civilization architecture ala SMAC?
IMO it would be really flavourful, different architectures helped give personality to any faction in SMAC.
Considering that the mod has civilizations which are a lot different and have more personality than vanilla ones it wouldn't be a bad idea IMO.
