Culture Flips

That's just odd. Probably a bug?

I have to go against the stream and say I like this feature. I adds one more dimension to the game: Culture becomes an important factor. And yes, I do like to build a few temples quite early in the game to boost my cultural power. :)

I don't mind culture flips.

Having CivAssisttII and MapStat helps since now I know which cities might flip. I just have to check them each turn. I'll just put some units next to the troubled city in case of bad news, and if the city is large (15+) sorta hope that it does flip (and lose population), so that I can retake it (and make it lose population again) to make it easier to control.

Not sure if Culture Flipping cities have any affect on War Weariness, though.

Don't get me wrong. I play with cultural conversion on. I like flipping foreign cities to my own empire. Besides, I like the cultural aspect in general.

I got so annoyed with flips after the first 3 games that I turned it off & haven't bothered with it since. Yes, I understand that it adds another dimension to the game & changes strategy. I might turn it back on at some point, but right now I don't need it & don't miss it.

It does cause WW, because it counts as 'losing' a city to enemy action. In my current personal game I am so fed up with flips that I am rushing settlers, putting them in recently captured cities and abandoning them and building my own city in the same spot, generally. So Odense becomes Was Odense. I'm going for a Domination victory. I am keeping Wonder cities and just dealing with flips there. Anyway, the flips are part of my level 2 WW. My only productive cities are my core, anyway, and they aren't as bad due to various factors. Strangely enough, my Specialist farms are going nuts, but it doesn't affect their science output. I'm still getting decent research times with 50 cities in disorder. It does make the IBT a PITA with 50 disorder reports. Hopefully I will win soon.

Specialists of any kind are not affected by disorder, even in their own city.
