Culture retained???

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or not but here it goes...

I remember installing a patch a while ago and playing conquests, then playing through several scenarios and when I captured a city, the culture was retained. Now, however, it has never happened in the ones that I've tried since reinstalling. Is this feature only found in certain games as an option or was it taken out at some point? Cause it really makes life difficult without it :s

I know its an option in the editor, maybe you were playing a scenario where that was enabled.

were you playing a conquest, like rise of rome or something and havent played it again?
cause i think culture is retained on there

Yeah, there are a couple of conquests that retain culture. And you can turn this on in the editor.
