What are the stats of the Curragh? Can everyone build it? Or just seafaring civs? Because I think that they (and I only they) can start with one.

Also, who can build the Ship Of The Line, and what are it's stats?

Thanks in advance.

It has attack and defence? I didn't know that.

"Can everyone build it? Or just seafaring civs? Because I think that they (and I only they) can start with one." Cost?

Everyone can build it- it comes with Alphabet. Seafaring civs start with alphabet, so they can build them from the start. Not @ my home computer so I can't give you the cost..:(

Do seafaring civs start with one? I heard that they did when I read a preview of the two new traits (it was not the beta leak).

15!? NICE! That's as much as a jaguar warrior, so you can build this early, and fast. Awesome.

Are galleys still 1/1/3s?

The only experience I've had with them was in the Mesopotamia scenario, and they were 1/1/4.\

Edit: no. I started a game as Portugal when I got it, and I had to build my first curragh.

It was a mistake among many at that site.

You have to build the unit (if you started with it, it would be a ship on land).

That was a mistake at the Ugo Mini-Site which was reported by Merepatra of Breakaway Games here:

Babylon isn't agricultural, and seafaring trait doesn't give a free curagh. Nice prizes for the contest though, just wish I could enter ;)

Seafaring doesn't start with a curragh; costs about same as spearman I think. Don't have access to game right now though, so maybe it costs more or less.

Extremely useful unit on archipegelo maps: exploring unit with range of 3.

Galleys now have a movement of 4

Curragh most definitely does not have an attack of 0, as a few barb galleys off my coast could attest if they weren't sleeping with the fishes.

Costs 15. If you're expansionist (and not seafaring) on a continent, its not that useful, since you can build Scouts for the same speed.

But if you are seafaring it moves 3, in which case its awesome.

In the "epic" game (not a scenario) curraghs are 1.1.2 with no transport capability and available with Alphabet. I know at least one of the scenarios allows them to transport.

I started a game and got Inca (agricultural, expansionist) at random, that that's where my info comes from. Curraghs upgrade to Galleys which are still 1.1.3 transport 2.

As someone else noted if you have a seafaring civ then naval movement rate is increased.

Conquest #1, meso... has them with 0.1.2 and transport of 1.

Haven't played epic game yet and so don't know about that game rules.

Oh, sorry. Then the manual is wrong. :)

the curragh in the mesopotamia scenario can hold at least one unit, i moved a spearman with it.
