Our spies have been poking about a bit more and come up with this:

We're dumb, 4% literacy...

Let's see, there are 84 posts in the national registry at the moment - that makes for ca. 75 citizens (substracting for "welcome" and "explanatory" posts).

=> There should be 3 literate people in here. jayne, ainwood, civ1-addict - I can't be literate, then. :crazyeye:

I sure hope we improve on this stat, otherwise I will have to continue using "powers beyond my powers" to make words out of these differently painted greyish "stones" on the not-quite-flat-surface before me and sentences (what is that?) out of the words.

To all you illiterates out there: I know you cannot read and comprehend this (you could get one of our sages to read it out for you), but technically I shouldn't be able to write this little tale either. Miracles happen...

Demographics are something that I rarely pay attention to as there is usually something that the computer is ahead on.

The AIs being ahead in literacy, at this point, may be a sign they'll be later to monarchy. I'm unsure how literacy is calculated, but I know it's based on a number of techs.

Certain techs increase literacy. Those are: Alphabet, Writing, and (surprise) Literacy. I think the number of Libraries, Universities, and some other improvements also affect the number. I wouldn't worry too much about any of these demographics, though.

I believe the Mfg = 10 means our Whales are putting out 10 shields per turn, excellent. Our Productivity is highest because of the Whales, Roads, and River -- each city's workers are cranking! And Family Size has something to do with excess food and growth.

Like MajorGeneral2, I'm not worried about this. What I am worried about is: word of riots coming in Regia Civitas. And some people talk of Barbarians!
