Windows 7 64 Bit Radeon 5570 2GB GPU 8GB RAM Intel i7 870
Brand new machine.
I bought CivIV from Games for Windows Live. OS requirements said some XP versions and vista, but the game is also listed on the Windows 7 compatible games list, so I got it. Been playing like a friend. Then today, mid game, the mouse cursor changed from an arrow to a line about an inch long, smooth on one side and jagged on the other. It changed again to a box about an inch aquare, and became unresponsive. Had to do manual reboot as cursor was unbresponsive in terms of button clicks.
What is up? I know the card and CPU can handle it, and the machine is not overheating. I was running both on meduim graphics settings.
I know very little. Does this sound like an issue with the GPU? Or maybe just a quirky sign of incompatibility with W7 and Civ IV? Has anyone else experienced this?
Any comments would be appreciated.
