Ju88
Improved German bomber.
Versatile and Adequate attacker. Use against medium ships and tougher
targets.
Good defence, but won't survive a dedicated fighter attack.

Four-engined Luftwaffe heavy bomber.
It's range and attack make it good in the maritime attack role or recon.
Escort may be needed against more stubborn foes.

Bismarck
German Super Battleship.

The POLIKARPOV I-16!

What a nice little plane, but watch out for those Doras and Ta152s!

Here are some of the usual suspects from Dictator!

DICTATOR ToT SCENARIO. V2.1
By Curt Sibling. 2002.
--------------------------

FOREWORD
--------
With time you can eventually triumph with any of the powers.
But you will need a different style of command for each of them.
All empires have differing goals and advantages.
To get the very best weapons and improvements, research is vital.
Some weapons will appear at the historical date they were introduced.

In historical mode, your empire may find itself propelled into war, you must be prepared!
In the Open Season scenario, your political choices will dictate who you go to war with.

GLOBAL POWER WW2 COMBAT TIPS
----------------------------
Though this advice is geared towards the Historical scenario.
The tips are useful for Open Season scenario games.

Use Artillery to bash tough enemy cities.

Use Aircraft to attack light ships, light tanks and troops.

Use large bombers to attack tougher targets.

Recycle a lot, replace obselete design with new verrsions,
this will be vital later in the game when the amount of units
on the map is huge!

Produce elites to cause havoc against the enemy.

Cover your ground attack stacks with aircraft.

Always defend your armour.

Use the battleship's coastal bombard power!

Always have fighters in vital cities!

Develop jets and rocket weapons as a high priority!

Do not waste valuable unit allocation, if you have a useless
unit in a safe city, far from the frontlines, then disband it
and build something useful with the sheilds!

Keep a strong submarine force.

And use subs to sneak elites into enemy lands.

There are no engineers so if something gets ruined, tough luck!

Also the Atom bomb's effects cannot be cleaned, use the nukes with care!
Or do not use them at all!

Fortify tough units on hills for good defence of strong points.

keep a good force of transports and freighters.

Also send your supply trucks between cities with good trade,
airlift them if possible, the science and cash bonus is vital!

the type of army is up to you, but always make proper use of units,
British Infantry die if they fight Tiger MkIIs, for example...

If you can destroy an enemy, do it! Surviving units will always
rally and come back to attack!

Charge towards objective cities and don't give the AI a second to recuperate!

As Germany you MUST try and take the UK, you will be hassled by the RAF if you dont!

Also destroying or capturing Moscow, Stalingrad and Leningrad are super-vital.

Germany must also churn out U-boats to defend the Atlantic from fleets of USN ships!

The USA can be conquered, but you will need a huge amount of troops and tanks,
also this must be balanced with various other battles on the Eastern front etc.

Once you defeat the USA and USSR, life is easier, churn out tigers, Waffen SS and Me262s!

Take over that planet!

USSR, UK and Asian Allies;
Survive the intitial attacks, research or trade techs, and smash back at your foe!

The USA;
Once you have spent the pre-1941 era getting trade moving,
Build loads of marines, GIs, Mustangs and B17s and give the Axis a kicking!

Build a huge fleet and head towards Japan, use paras and ships to blast the IJN.

Turn towards the UK and prevent the Germans from conquering it.

You've seen Saving Private Ryan, you know what to do, Hitler must die!

The tactics for the empires are simple; survive and defeat your rival.

That should be enough to get you moving, see ya in Berlin!!!

Just a question:
Does the Finns have any role in this scenario?
If you think of adding them somehow, i can help with Unit descriptions and maybe even a propaganda poster or two.
;)

In the Allied Nations empire,
Stockholm and Helsinki play a huge role
in the defence of Scandinavia.

Stolkholm is the nerve centre of the Allied Nations,
While Helsinki is the first line of attack against any
aggression by the Soviets.

I have set some forts around Helsinki and also much forest so
the Finnish defenders can give Stalin's henchmen the kicking
they got in 1940!

The Allied nations fight good as well, In my Axis game,
They backed Germany all the way in thier war
with the USA, the even sent subs to the coast of Tampa bay!

Don't underestimate the minor empires!

PS
Those finnish posters would be nice,
any chance of posting them, Mikoyan?

:goodjob:

I'm trying to find those posters right now.
Finnish Infantry should be extra good at fighting tanks, as they were experts at guerrilla tactics and were big users of 'Molotov Cocktails'. Airplanes: Fokker D.XXI, VL Myrsky, Hawker Hurricane, Bristol Blenheim and Ju-88 were available in small numbers for the Finnish forces. I don't know what tanks they used but i am bound to find out. Artillery: 76K 36 Medium Gun, 105K 13 Heacy Cannon. There should also be SFK Soldiers (Swedish Voulontary forces.) More important cities in the war with the russians were: Savonlinna, Suomussailmi, Kotka, Oulu and Kajaani. Rovaniemi was also hevily bombed by the Germans later on.

More info may come soon!
:goodjob:

Mighty Warlock, (love the avatar!)
You have done much to help.

You have the Ace's gratitude!

We are brothers of the North!

Well I just began Dictator version 3 last night. I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed with this scenario! Great job Curt! :goodjob:

There are no bugs and gameplay is smooth.

I started with the Soviets. I concentrated on building a few more units and then building up the infrastructure. I thought that with the big army Russia starts out with I'll be able to handle Barbarossa when it comes.

Wrong! When war was declared by Germany on Russia they didn't send any units into my territory on the first turn. I thought this is going to be a cakewalk. Turn 2 of the war quickly showed me I was in a fight for survival! Stuka's, Ju88's, and Me109's pummeled my border defenses and Odessa fell and was raised! Then Germany made a big push against Murmansk. They attack the Murmansk area with Wehrmacht troops and 2 infantry loaded SdKfz's. Thankfully the Soviet bombers there along with some Red Army units stopped the attack.

However down south Germany continued to launch wave after wave of bombers against Kiev, Sevestopol, and Kharkov. Stalin was quivering with fear as he watched his mighty Red Army crumble before the Nazi war machine. However by winter of '41 siberian reinforcements appeared near Moscow. They were immediately sent to the Ukraine in an attempt to stem the tide of German advance. The fighting calmed down for a few turns with the exception of the Finland front. There the battle still raged but mostly with infantry.

Then the announcement came!

The harsh Russian winter was over and the Wehrmacht was preparing to launch another offensive. They brought in their new Tiger I tanks and quickly captured Kiev, Kharkov, and Sevestopol. Rostov on Don fell next and it seemed like all was lost. Then Josef Stalin tanks appeared near Moscow along with many more fresh troops from Siberia. They were all sent south.

Now meanwhile the Germans were making a very determined push towards Riga and Vatiutin in the North. Those cities held on by a thread against fierce attacks. Many fearsome Condor bombers were used but they were all shot down by Soviet AA fire. The Finland front continued in stalemate.

Then it was announced that the Wings of the Red Star had a new fighter. The Lagg 3. Finally we would be able to stem the tide of Condors, Ju88's, Stukas, and Me109's. German troops were in the suburbs of Stalingrad. Heavy fighting has begun and some black clad singing Russian soldiers took a heavy toll of the enemy. The date is now Oct. 1942 and that's when I retired for the evening. Can't wait to see what will happen next!
