Custom 3D Sponsor Animation Questions

Hello, I'm almost done with making a 3D sponsor model (still gotta texture it first, as well as finish up the legs and eyes...), and I wanted to ask a couple of questions. First of all, is there any sort of special method I have to use when rigging, or do I use normal bones? I ask because Koslov's bones are represented by dots, and that's not how I remember regular bones being displayed in Blender (it could have changed though, last time I rigged a model was a few versions ago, since then I've actually done all static stuff...). Second of all, how do I define custom animations. Is it a feature of Nexus Buddy, do I export them somehow with Blender, or is there some other program I need to use?

You're best off referencing civ5. There have been a handful (a meager handful) of custom animated leaders and I believe there is a decent tutorial. That said, I remember there are extreme limitations, such as the inability to import custom animations or lighting situations. I know there is some tutorial on the civ5 modding forums here. I wish I could point you more specifically.

Sounds like you're doing awesome work however. I hope things go really well.

I did a quick browse there earlier (like I have for several other things that haven't gotten a specific Civ:BE only tutorial), as from what I've heard, Civ:BE is based heavily off of Civ 5 + expansions. Admittedly it wasn't a very deep search, so I guess I'll try and see if I can find that tutorial you mentioned.

Thanks! I actually have my 3D model mostly done (minus texturing, of course, which will probably take me the longest). I plan on finishing it up real quick and posting a pic to my sponsor thread (with updated icon and a bit more to show).

I've been having problems for a while with .FBX files, at one point, animations were working, now they randomly stopped. When exporting a new .FBX with only the bones and animations being exported, Nexus Buddy refused to open it,saying there were no meshes or animations. If it helps, the name of the Armature is Armature.001, and the current bones are named GromHead, GromNeck, and GromTorso (very basic animation to start). If there's any more info needed, I can give it.
